Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
Looks like, once again, I didn't make the time to let each and every one of you know how awesome you are and how important you are to me. Because of all of you, I have friends, readers, 23 stories--16 of which have been extremely successful--and my own appreciation group.
You'll never know how great you guys are. Especially because you all stick by me when I'm an obnoxious fool to the rest of the world. My stories fail, and you're there. I get bullied, and you're there. I drown in another pit of depression and self-loathing, and you're there. There are some of you who have left, and some of you who've threatened to leave, and to you, if you're reading, I'm truly sorry.
But many of you have stayed, and were either willing to ignore me altogether, or jump to my aid when I needed someone, even when I felt like I didn't need someone. And of those people, there are now 651 of you.
I didn't realize until just now how much that blows me away.
I really don't deserve all the followers I have, or all the praise I get for my stories. But the fact that I get it anyway means more to me than I an even put into words. For you all to accept me as the messed-up, but still good-hearted person I am and care about me anyway, it's something I've wanted my whole life. And even though I've been less than deserving of all that love and admiration, especially lately, you've been there for me anyway. You guys are a true treasure. And I'll never forget how much you've helped me.
Ernest Hemingway once said that all you have to do to be a writer is sit at a typewriter and bleed. Morbid, but poetic, in it's own way. Now that I'm done bleeding, I hope you all remember just how amazing you are. I've seen the worst of FIMfiction, but you guys are the best. Bar-none.

Awesome checkpoint dude! Know, though, that you're completely deserving of us. If anyone's undeserving, my friend, it's us of you. You're really the coolest person Lightning, and being in your service as a friend has been wonderful. I hope someday I can be worthy of that honor.
