I finally moved! · 8:50am Dec 11th, 2015
Welp, it's official. I finally moved into the new house. Yeah, I bet you don't even remember that I bought a house (well, cosigned with my dad). I thought it was a year ago, but according to the publish date of THIS blog, (September 2014) it's been well over a year.
I have been working on this damned house 7 days a week. FOR THE PAST YEAR. Plus my day job. Holy hell, has this dump taken its toll on my mental state. Not to mention my free time.
The dump in question:
The pic is a year old. On the outside alone, we've since reshingled the roof, replaced the shit fence, removed the hedges in front, and replaced all the windows on the front there. That is, of course, to say nothing of the inside. Long story short: entirely rebuilding a quarter of the second floor (termites), gut and redo 2 bathrooms, re-plumb everything, open up the first floor and completely redo the kitchen, paint everything, refinish every inch of hardwood floor, and carpet the basement bedroom (my room). Yeah yeah, ha ha.
The kitchen did turn out bitchin' imo. I may have designed it...
Well right about now you must be thinking 'well Red, maybe now you can sit on your ass and write some horsewords.' And I'll tell you that I sincerely wish that were the case. See, whilst we're all moved in and cosy as can be, the list of shit-to-do on the house is still not entirely checked off. There's bits of plumbing, hvac, re-insulating the attic, not to mention the quite-literal hole in the basement floor that is supposed to be my bathroom.
HOWEVER. I do still hope that the light at the end of the tunnel is very very close, and with any luck, even with my shit left to do, I'll still be able to do some writing in the foreseeable future.
Anyhow, enough of my bitching! Here's my room:
Was wondering where you fucked off to
RED!? This is AWESOME!
I watch HGTV Canada all the time, and that looks like a BRILLIANT home!
That kitchen, by the way, is AWESOME AND I LOVE IT! Keep making your dream house a home!
I WANT MORE PICTURES! ... not in a stalker way, but in a fixer-upper fan way. SERIOUSLY!
I love the kitchen.
Finally! Now go write shit! I may have upvoted that first comment...
Sweet home Chicago XD
