Whoops · 9:04pm Nov 25th, 2015

Looks like my alt Blue Harvest's story Drawing Conclusions got featured.

Too bad I was too sleepy while writing it that I accidentally gave it an "Incomplete" tag.

Whoops.

I'll find a way to make it work lulz

In the meantime, you want to give a shiet about Blue Harvest's stuff to read other things by my alt, check out Pigeon Toes. you see, Sunset Sparkles is a thing. We doin' it.

I'm clearly new to you, skirts. I have no idea who your alts are, but I keep finding out that I really like some of your stories without even knowing it's you. Is there some sort of list, or is it a guessing game?

I asked before, and I ask again; just how many alts do you have on this site?

Is there a list of them somewhere?

Actually, SS&E's alts are listed on his userpage.

3568357 Yes, those are some of them.

some of them.

You mean he has more than those? I didn't know that...

I noticed you tagged a lot of your Blue Harvest stories as 2nd person. I don't think that's correct. Second person has sentences like: You went outside into the streets of Ponyville, and a lavender pony levitating a book in front of her face nearly ran into you.

I don't care for 2nd person perspective.

Especially since the next sentence is likely to be: "Oh, sorry, Anon," Twilight said apologetically.

I'm starting to believe you're actually the Anonymous hive mind.

3568625 The ones he's tagged as such are second person, though--they're from the perspective of one pony ("I", e.g. Applejack or Twilight) and are addressed to another pony ("you", e.g. Rainbow or Sunset).

3568983 Incorrect. The narrator is first person, not second. "I" is telling the story, not "you." I refer you to this wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second-person_narrative . Compare with: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First-person_narrative .

The 2nd person tag was created so that the oddly popular "Anon" stories can be sought out--or avoided.

The 2nd person tag has been removed from all but Pigeon Toes, and that looks like an oversight.

3569005 Ah, whoops. I (and Skirts, I assume) thought that the tag was to be used for any fic that makes use of second-person pronouns, though I did understand that they were indeed stories in first person. Thanks for clearing that up!

3569033 I'd be hard pressed to think of a story that never used the word "you."

3569048 Ach, c'mon. I meant for a character. Most first-person fics, at least the ones I have read, do not use second-person pronouns for a character outside of dialogue.

3569084 Yikes. I didn't actually read Pigeon Toes until now. I assumed it was like the other stories. :facehoof:

Okay, this is not a typical first person narrative, but that is still what it is. It is Twilight telling this story, the "I," referring to Sunset as "you." We are experiencing events from Twilight's perspective, not Sunset's. That Sunset is referred to as "you" is a literary device to underline Twilight's feelings for her.

3569104 Oh, I agree--they are definitely first-person (and it is all of blue harvest's fics that are like this, besides "Close the Door"), but yes, I see that you are right about the usage of a literary device. I just initially had assumed that this odd usage merited the 2nd Person tag, even though the story is not told from this perspective, and I thank you for clearing this up. :twilightsheepish:

HahahahahaHAHA

Of course. Of course the first story that makes me go "wow, this author has an amazing style" that is NOT one of your stories... Is actually one of your stories.

Why would I expect anything else?

Shorts, I SWEAR you are my favorite authors, both on fimfiction and otherwise.

Congratulations on the feature. :pinkiehappy:

I should create an alt for my FlutterBiceps fics and another for my kissing cousins MarbleMac fics so I can still remain known as a FlutterMac shipper even if those other ships are just so cute to ignore.
