Look. I did put out a warning a little bit ago that I was writing something feelsy. Well, 10K words later, it's done. And it's on its way to being posted on the site.
Please understand something about this story: I usually don't put a lot of work into what I post here. I'm here to entertain you, be a clown, be a jerk. I'm really just here to have fun. And this story? It was work. It's...not fun. At least I don't think it is.
That's not to say I think it's bad. I don't think it is. I don't think people will really like it that much because...well it's a hard thing to "like" to be honest. And that's ok. But it's a thing I wrote. And I think it's important that I wrote it. And it's not happy, it's not funny, it's not silly. I'll get back to that soon enough, but for a little while, you'll have to deal with serious pencil.
Ok, I know serious pencil is no fun, I know, I know. Don't worry. Once this story has had time to sit and fester a while, I'll move on to the next one. This is just a word to my regulars that this isn't what you're used to, so I hope you don't go into this expecting one thing and getting another.
Anyway, take care and all that. And read at your own discretion. Thank you.

EDIT: AND it's live! Just to be clear since someone brought up a good point, I'm not apologizing for writing this. I'm not sorry. Just want to be clear, for my own peace of mind.
Buddy, I think you did this before. I'm sure your more serious story is good, and it makes me sad that you feel like you need to apologize to your followers for writing a story that you want to write. Please write whatever you want to write, we have all these drama and comedy tags for a reason, so you don't need to worry that your followers will feel tricked if they read a serious story from you.

Oh, I'm not sorry at all!
I just want to give fair warning. As I said, I don't think it's bad, and I'm certainly not sorry I wrote it. I just want to make people VERY VERY AWARE for this story in particular that it's not something they should go into expecting my usual. I really can't stress that enough this time.
