Guide to G3 Ponyville! · 6:00am Nov 11th, 2015
This entry is a guide to Ponyville... boy has this town changed in the three hundred years! Can you guess where things are today, vs. how they were in Princess Twilight's time?
Celebration Castle- big pink castle in the center of Town, was built as the home for Princess Twilight Sparkle in the Harmony bearer era. The castle is riddled with secret passages, and has a hot air balloon air dock on the left tower- the original Twilight's balloon is kept anchored there. Home of Spike the Dragon, and Princess Wysteria. It is often used for Ponyville parties and celebrations.
Cotton Candy Cafe- Cafe run by the overly-talkitive pony named Cotton Candy, it is the favorite hangout spot for the ponies of Ponyville. Located on the edge of the ponyville lake, where ponies can launch off in the small boats tethered there. Pick up some rainbowberry juice or some sweet treats, if you're interested.
Sweet Reflections Dress Shop- Dress shop that sells clothing and accessories, run by dressmakers Sew and Sew and Rainbow Dash. Lots of pretty dresses to choose from, it has a sister shop in Unicornia, the Frilly Frocks Boutique, run by Frilly Frocks.
Petal Parlor- Daffidazey loves to style your hair, she can do any do... as long as she has her glasses! Has a sister shop in unicornia, Amberlock's Celebration Salon! It is debated if the twist and twirl machine can double as a lethal weapon...
Twinkle Twirl's Dance Studio- Twinkle Twirl teaches ponies to dance here, and trains her own personal dance troupe. The studio has a turntable dance stage that spins! An outdoor stage for the ponies to perform stands just outside.
Bloomin Blossoms Shop- Ponyville's general Store, run by Medowbrook. Sometimes it's hard to keep groceries in stock... cause Meadbrook keeps eating them!
Rainbow Wishes Amusement Park- The town's amusement park, complete with roller coaster, and Ferris wheel! The carousel's ponies and parts are said to have once been parts of the carousel boutique. Run by ponies Bublesweet and Round 'n Round.
Super Sundaes Ice Cream Parlor and Bakery- Ponyville's sweet treats are made here, the place you go to if you have a sweet tooth. Run by Ponyville's resident baker, Sweetberry.
Wonder Waves Surf Shop- Little surf hut by the beach at Ponyville lake, all your beach merchandise can be acquired here. Run by Guava Lava and Sapphire Shores, owned by Sunny Daze.
Kimono's Cave- Cave where the wisest pony in the land lives outside of town, has a pleasant gazebo that forms the entrance, where Kimono likes to meditate.
The Story Loft- Ponyville's library, built inside an old lighthouse on the lake shore, converted into a pinwheel windmill. The story loft is currently run by Storybelle, who loves reading the great books to other ponies at story club.
Ponyville Park- huge green park in the center of Town, where the ponies love to fly kites and play. Scootaloo loves racing her motor scooters here with her boyfriend. The rainbowwaterfall hides the secret entrance to the portal to butterfly island.
Greener than Green meadow- large field at the edge of town, where rainbow berries bushes grow. Applejack's picnic cottage stands here, along with her small apple orchard.
Does this mean that the Ponyville in this fic is the future!? How did the Crystal Friendship Castle turn pink of all things!?
If I recall correctly (and i may not), Thunder Hooves explained this in one of his short stories. Basically, they did some renovations after G4 ended.
3535295 Eugh, now it makes Princess Cadence and Pinkie seem tame.

Yep, as the historian Firehooves (the character the author use to use as their in-universe character, until switching to a character more resembling the author ) has recorded, The harmony bearers tales that are widely popular in ponyland are sort of a mythic past to- much as the king Arthur stories were to the humans in Megan's world. Tornado Firehooves speculates the accounts of the crystal castle in the stories were the mixing up over time of the Rainbow crystal castle in unicornia, with the accounts of Princess Twilight's celebration castle.
And the castle wasn't originally pink, this generation's pinkie pie painted it that color on her birthday. (As revealed in the G3 TV special; A Charming Birthday)
