    Happy New Years

    2023 was way too long.

My goal this year is to find a new job. Try and write more than one new chapter of Feather Steel and to hopefully publish this new story of mine which popped into my head and won't leave. Already written 20,000 words. :twilightsheepish:

As for my other unfinished works, we'll see. :facehoof:

    The Curse is Broken

So, yeah, finally a new chapter is here.

What can I say other than time goes by fast and you never realize how much you lose until it's lost. Five years :fluttershysad:

The Difficulty of Continuing a Story

Why is it so difficult to do this sometimes? I feel like it's much, much easier to come up with a new story and write it out. But Celestia help you if you stop and want to continue later. :facehoof:

    A Rushed Job

I'm Back from TrotCon which was fun, though I feel they planned poorly for how large the venue was vs how many people were there (last time it was in a smaller hotel and felt cozy).

Altering True Sight? Thoughts? · 4:46am Nov 8th, 2015

So I went to change the latest chapter on True Sight (don't worry, the original chapter is backed up). And I had a pretty neat idea on what to do with the entire story, but something is bothering me. Even though I won't be changing the entire story, I'll still be altering chapters that some of you probably read. So, I propose this question to all of you: What do you think when authors change their stories?

Hmm, that's a tough question. I'm fine with someone taking a story down to rewrite it from scratch, but I'm guessing you mean changing chapters that have already been posted in order to change the story. In which case I dunno. I think I'd usually prefer that posted chapters not be changed on the fly unless it's grammar related. But on the other hand, I feel it'd be a shame for you to not take the story where you want to. I don't think it'd be too big a deal to change something as long as you let people know that they should go back and reread.

Ultimately it's your story to do with as you please. If you feel you should make some changes, I say go for it.

It's your story, do whatever you think you need to do to tell the best one you can.

That being said, authors that make sweeping changes and don't list them in a blog-post are both really annoying, and setting themselves up for a ton of confused comments. Hint, hint.

3529232 I can, but no one seems to read these things. Do you think I should post the blog at the beginning if the changed chapter?

A link in the author's notes you mean? Sure, that seems like a smart way of making sure as many as possible gets the message.

Personally I'd add it in the notes of the next chapter, though, since if people are re-reading they'll notice it anyway.

3529545 Even if the next chapter doesn't change yet?

Yeah. So people are aware the changes have happened and have time to mull them over.

Or at least that's how I've done it a few times and it seems to have worked.

3529684 Well, okay, thanks for the input! :rainbowdetermined2:
