I'm Back from TrotCon which was fun, though I feel they planned poorly for how large the venue was vs how many people were there (last time it was in a smaller hotel and felt cozy).
Anyway, the whole trip boosted my motivation enough to want to write more ponies and hopefully fix what I have now (or finish what I started). Unfortunately, I'm reading through Reflection of Nightmares and I feel like it was pretty rushed. It's missing quite a bit of detail and not only did I write myself into a corner but I also feel it's lacking real "bite" in some areas. Like there are setups for massive drama but I either missed the payoff or rushed them.
I wouldn't say it's a mess but if I had done things differently I could have had a really nice story that lead to a sequel. The whole idea behind it was to write a real feels story with a big setup and massive payoff for those "feels". I think I can still salvage things but I might need to start over with edited chapters.
I'll sleep on it, though. It's possible I might just write an ending and move on.
I agree about trotcon, I was there as well and the whole thing felt empty. Main stage wasn't even decorated like last year, actually nothing was themed this year. Felt like attendance was way down too. Hopefully next year will be better, still love going!

The thing is, while I'm sure attendance was down (everyone I know and their mom claims they're going to Everfree), I feel like it was the spreading out of everything that just made it seem worse than it actually was.
