New IYGALL-Verse Story Out Soon (IMPORTANT BLOG POST)

Good news: I finally finished something fanfiction related over the weekend and am very close to sending it all you guys' way. Bad news: this is going to be a fair bit more complicated than any of you might be expecting. In fact, it could very well be the most controversial thing I've ever written. This week, I will be providing you with official IYGALL cut content.

New Let Somepony Love You Out Soon!

The Imperfect Storm draft took me longer than expected, but eventually, the global pandemic made me realize I had to get it done sooner or later. And so, I'm back on FiMFiction (for a limited time, at least, more about that in a bit), and ready to update my stories!

New Part Coming Your Way...And Stuff About Canada · 6:44am Nov 4th, 2015

This isn't taken straight from the beginning, but I personally found this the part that would be most of interest to all of you. (Also, it's revealed in this part that Scene didn't quite tell Remy the whole story with Mosely. What he left unsaid will be a mystery to you for now. :raritywink: )

Scene would still be able to protect somepony, even if it wasn’t the one he’d intended on helping in the first place. But in reality, he would do anything, anything for more power over the situation. Anything to keep him from feeling that he hadn’t just given up and declared Coco as a lost cause.
“I can’t talk right now,” he finally whispered to his friend. “I have a lot on my mind, and I really just need to think about how I’m going to handle this.”
“Can I at least walk home with you?” Remy asked, trying his best to offer his support.
“No, I’m sorry,” Scene replied. “I just really, really need to be alone right now. Nothing against you, but I…I don’t want anything to do with anypony working on the play right now. I’d be happy if I never had to walk onto that stage again.”
“Um, look, I get that you’ve been trying to skirt the main issue, and you’re terrible at hiding it. But from all that I’ve seen of you up until now, you seemed like the type who’d never get this hopeless about your job.”
“This isn’t the right time to—“
“You do realize what you’d be doing, right? If you quit here and now, you would be giving up the one thing you love. It’d be like having your cutie mark torn away from you.”
“I wouldn’t be giving up what I love,” Scene stated bitterly. “Even if I was, I wouldn’t care anymore. As long as I keep that mare away from making the worst mistake of her life, it would all be worth it.”
“But I don’t think he’s that bad.”
“He is that bad. I don’t want to keep Coco from falling in love with another stallion; that’s okay by me. But after what I saw, after what he showed me, I can’t even look him in the eye anymore. If somepony like me was affected this much by him, then who knows how much the truth will break her? If she were to find out just how much damage he’s already done to her family just by existing, I don’t think she could go on. It’s not about whether or not I end up with her in the end, I just want to save her…but I can’t.”
Upon seeing his normally calm director’s emotional outbursts, ones that were becoming all too common as of late, the hairdresser’s gaze took on a new intensity.
“What did Mosely do to you?” Remy asked, his voice shaking with concern.
Just then, as if by some sort of spell, both stallions could see that their aforementioned boss was just on the other side of the road, appearing to have just dropped off Coco at her apartment. Without warning or much thought to it, Scene crossed the next chance he got.
He couldn’t get to Coco, not anymore. But maybe he could save her another way. And that path would start with a demanded explanation on why Mosely’s newfound presence in her life seemed to coincide so perfectly with the threats he’d been given about avoiding her.
“I’m sorry,” Scene muttered just as he cantered off, leaving Remy alone to process the storm that was about to occur. “But I can’t tell you that, either.”

And now, Canada:

That second part may not be as random as you think, before you say anything about it. See, one of the next few parts (two or three parts away, from my projections) is going to be extra-special in more ways than one. I'm in the process of applying to a two-week school in Quebec as a study abroad opportunity for my French major. Which doesn't really concern you other than a random factoid--this will likely be the only part that will not be written entirely in America! I will inform you further when the Canadian part comes out, but don't expect much difference. Mosely will not suddenly start adhering to Canadian stereotypes, backing off, and apologizing to Coco. Unfortunately, Canadian Mosely Orange is still Mosely Orange. I might feel tempted to put a few "eh"s in there just as an inside joke, though. I've got a pretty good chance of getting in!

For those of you still here after my weird excited ranting about leaving the country for the first time, the new part will likely release on Thursday afternoon, and I'm going to experiment with perspective a bit on it. It'll be vignettes from multiple characters' points of view, all hopefully culminating into something coherent in the end. Scene, Coco, Mosely, and Suri will all get their small parts from their perspective. I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and the potential titles I have for it are both inspired by songs:

"To The Owners of Lonely Hearts"
"The Heart Wants What It Wants"

I find that, as much as I claim to like oldies music better than current stuff, it's weird that I've had a Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and now a Selena Gomez reference in my stuff, even though I'm not a huge fan of any of them. Odd.

Also, on the subject of female idols: I recently downloaded a game on my iPad translated from Japanese called Love Live, where you basically collect these cards that represent scouting young girl singers. I'm already hooked on it after just a few days; the gameplay is rhythm-based and a bit like Guitar Hero/DDR. But more importantly, by some weird coincidence of fate, my highest-ranking idol is named...Coco. Completely different character than the Coco in this verse, looks nothing like her, and the stress costume designing already has on my interpretation of her would make "teen pop star" probably the worst career route for her, but...I think we'd all cheer her on as an idol, wouldn't we? I'd at least like to hear her sing; I'm sure she'd have a nice soft voice. And she'd certainly have the cuteness spin down pat, at least.

The closest we will ever get to idol Coco.
