    It's Been a While

It’s been close to six months, but I’ve finally gone and written something publishable!

    Telos

Seven ponies board a train departing from Canterlot; three guards, a young couple, and a thief.

    Pronunciations, and Other Happenings

    Dear Princess Celestia,

Today, I learnt that I didn’t even know how to pronounce my own username correctly. Props to one Neighrator Pony for correcting me on this; he’s a pretty cool guy.

Oh, and he also does damn fine dramatic readings:

    A (Very) Belated Announcment

For the merry few of you who aren't seeing this post after reading a certain interview, A Tale Told was featured by the Royal Canterlot Library about a month ago! You can read the flattering review and an interview over at their website.

Four blogs in eight months? I am so good at this whole engage-with-your-audience thing.

New story:

The tl;dr of sorts is that Cold in Gardez is a damn fine writer and, out of curiosity, I ended up reading the book that inspired one of his stories. Turns out Italo Calvino was also a damn fine writer, and I decided to give the whole ‘Lost Cities’ thing a go.

Trying to write four of them in 750 words last writeoff might have been a touch overambitious, but folks still seemed to enjoy it. The polished version’s currently sitting in the ‘pending’ queue; you can read it over here.

But wait.

There’s more.

I entered a contest organised by horizon a month ago; the challenge was to piece together the events of a poetry collection of his, and to then compose the final entry. It was my first time doing poetry of any sort, and I can honestly say it was the most fun I’ve ever had writing something.

I also managed to place second.

You can read my entry, along with all of the others, over here. Before you do that, go and read the piece that inspired them all; it’s well worth your time. That, and none of the entries will make sense to you unless you do.

That’s it from me for now. Uni finishes up for the year in a week or so, which means I’ll have more time to actually write things. The plan is to get another short story or two out before Christmas.

I mean it this time. Really.

I still hate you for the formatting headaches I had to go through. But it's not a resentful hate. It's more of a nemesis hate.
