Things Not to Do in Your First Fanfic · 11:23pm Oct 29th, 2015
1. Make it Clop. Sex is very repetitive, and unbelievably hard to write. When you strip away all the fun guilt, and fear, and social awkwardness, and jealousy, and miscommunication, and accidentally elbowing your partner in the nose when you're trying to figure out how to do a 69, sex is just tab A going into slot B over, and over, and over again. Have fun trying to find five sexual encounters worth of interesting ways to describe that. I'm a massive perv, but writing sex is hard enough to make me want to stick to writing innocent teen rated romance fics.
2. Make it Long. It's really easy to belt out 10,000 words of fanfic. It's really hard to go back and edit all of that so it's coherent and readable and doesn't have auto-corrects that make you look stupid and multiple canon characters names misspelled. Seriously, I'm on, like, my 10th pass through Chapter 1 of Hot Harvest and I'm still finding really obvious mistakes. I wish I'd kept it just a one-chapter vignette.
3. Post it Before It's Done. The internet loves serialization. Sanity and emotional stability do not. Just saying.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to trying to make this Flutter/Dash/Mac scene work.
There's a worrying lack of 'real' feeling sex stories on here. There's maybe two, or three, guys who can mix in that awkward stumbling around in the dark, stepping on a piece of lego and almost killing the mood stuff, but there's always room for one more.
I encourage any and all awkward sex stories from you in the future. I will gladly proof-read them too.

Any proofreading you wanted to help with would be greatly appreciated. An annoying attention to detail isn't one of my strengths.
I think I've done about as much for Chapter 1 as I can on my own. I want to rework Chapter 2 a little (mainly having Twilight unpack traditional and modern Equestrian sexual mores a little more; I'm into that kind of thing), and I think Chapter 3 will be ready for other people to look at in a couple of days.

Cool, cool. I'm mostly around, sometimes not, but if you want feel free to send me a link chapter 3 before you post and I can give you some of my, clearly, influential opinions on thing :-p

Thx! ^.^

If you're still up for a proofread, I have chapter 3 up on google docs.
I liked your Vinyl/Tavi story. My Fluttershy's mommy thing predates it, but I do think you influenced the way I RD goads Mac into treating her. ^.^
Also I was curious about your American Psycho references, but then I found you have a separate story about that. ^.^ Looking forward to it.

Yo! I noted down the typos I spotted when I read through Chapter 3, and if you're still interested in making corrections to the chapter, I'd be happy to send 'em your way, and to pre-read future chapters.
It's good to see another bi bro on the site, and wonderful to see one producing such great fic. I love how defined and on-point every character's personality is, man. I'll definitely check out "Lunch Meeting Apocalypse", and whatever stories you write next!
Oh, huh! I saw "A Nightmare in Ponyville" in your favorites gallery on your userpage! I edited "School Daze"; forgot that that sequel was a thing! How'd you stumble upon a fic that's from way back in 2012, man?

Oh, yes, yes, PLEASE! *pronks*
Oh, wait. Dignity. Right.
Ahem: I'd love to see any corrections! I love editors, they make me look smarter than I actually am.
WRT Nightmare in Ponyville: I really want to do a Hellraiser Vs. Pony fic. No lie. I was looking around to see if anyone had saved me the trouble, before I committed. Nightmare came up in the search because one of the chapter names, and Nightmare on Elm St. is another one of my favorite horror movies, so I got sucked right in. I actually haven't read the prequel yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
I've been a brony for years, since my best friend and my daughter got me into it, but I've only lately gotten deeply into the fanfic scene.
And I see you wrote a blog about my story! Thank you! :)
