Pre-readers needed for a new 4500-ish word short story · 10:11pm Oct 27th, 2015
The title is "The Candy Maker".
Applicable tags would be Sad, Slice of Life, and Original Character.
This is an interesting piece of work—it's inspired by events and challenges faced by a character I've been playing for over a year now from a pony-based RPG I've been playing once a week with some friends online. I've been thinking about writing something based on that game for a while now, since other players have wanted some kind of novelization or story to be drawn from it and there's a lot that could potentially provide material, so I picked something that I felt like had a lot of potential and ran with it, at least so far as a short piece. Don't worry, though, it's not literally events from the RPG, but more of a retelling based on a theme, so you won't be lost by not having knowledge of the game.
It's also an entry for a sad story contest (http://www.fimfiction.net/group/207724/the-equestrian-writers-guild/thread/213733/two-writing-challenge-contests) with a limit of about 4500 words, which is due by November 11, so there's a bit of a time factor at work.
If anyone's interested in helping with this dual-purpose piece, PM me for the link to the Google Doc. You'll get to read it before everyone else, and, of course, you'll get a pre-reader / editor credit. Oh, and my eternal gratitude. I guess there's that, too.
Thanks!
3501057 Ah, yes, I suppose there could be some conflict of interest there, but thanks for your encouragement all the same. I'm also looking forward to seeing your entry.
I would be interested in helping pre-read.
