Pokemonday Ain't Afraid of no Ghosts · 12:15pm Oct 19th, 2015

I put like, zero playtime into Pokemon Alpha Sapphire this past week, so this week's Pokemonday will only deal with Shuffle. (I just got into too deep a groove with Persona Q, didn't put AS back in until like Friday, and then just never had time to play with everything else going on here.)

Pokemon Shuffle

Last week was almost entirely devoted to the Spooky Safari. I caught six of the Pokemon on the first day, but Dusclops refused to appear until Saturday. FINALLY catching Dusclops on Saturday, I got down to the business of S-ranking the remaining main stages.

This morning, new main stages were added, as well as a return appearance by the Mega Banette ranking challenge and the Giratina escalation battle. Also, there are some new EX stages. Since I already have the Banetteite and the rewards for participation are weak, I'll wait until the last day of the competition then put in a token effort just for grins. The Giratina escalation battle has the usual rewards and has been reset to level 1 for all players, so I'll burn through that for the rewards...AFTER I catch all the new Pokemon that were added in this week's update.

For those who don't pay attention to the updates to the below rambling info, I've added some things of interest in recent weeks:

I am officially pissed at Dusclops. It has the highest base catch rate of all Safari Pokemon this time around, and I failed to catch it when I Great Balled it up to 80%. This coming from the guy who caught Virizion at 1%.

I'm excited that the Banettite has returned, since it's the only competition for which I don't have the Mega Stone. 1500th place or higher to get the Speedup is very steep, though... Might as well beat up Giratina again for that Speedup.

3481530 That's the thing about probability. A 99% success rate also means a 1% fail rate, and sooner or later, you're going to fail that 1% of the time.

I know, I've failed on higher catch rates. Doesn't make it any less frustrating, though. All I can do is try again. I'm gonna tackle the Safari and Giratina before I work on the new Main stages and Bisharp.
