Persona Qsday: Week 5 (Contains Persona Q Spoilers!) · 12:26pm Oct 13th, 2015

We're back with week five of my Persona Q coverage!

Remember, only plot spoilers from P3/P4 will be tagged! Character names from both games and plot details specific to Persona Q will NOT be tagged. Proceed at your own risk.

When last we left off, the combined forces of Team Yaso and Team Gekko were exploring the second labyrinth, the Group Date Cafe, and had just defeated an FOE in Wonderland at Elizabeth's request.

Let's plunge back in!

GROUP DATE CAFE

Stop 1

Almost immediately upon entering the floor proper, I come across an annoyance:

Spiked floor tiles that drain SP.

Lovely.

I carefully mark the spikes on my map so I can traverse safely. It should be noted there is an item that lets you pass over these without taking damage, and that as I've been told, walking on them DOES count toward your exploration percentage.

Super lovely.

I'd like to take a moment to digress here: marking the spike traps on my map made me curious about how others choose to mark their maps. If you've been playing Persona Q, how do you mark nonstandard obstacles on the map? The red and blue water pools in the first dungeon are easy; you just paint them the appropriate colors with the floor painter tool. Things like the flower vases in the first dungeon and the second dungeon's spike traps require a little more creativity.

For me, on the first floor, I marked the flower vases with white diamonds. On the second floor, for the spike traps, I painted the floors there a darker color, then placed a red circle icon in each tile of spikes.

But anyway.

A short way in, there's a small empty room that's good for a break. The party uses it for another cutscene. This time, it's Yosuke and Ken discussing bringing their respective quarries to justice.

After some more exploration, the party realizes that the Shadows are getting stronger here, and a varied battle strategy is needed to adapt.

Yeah, no kidding. Now maybe if skills didn't cost twice as much SP in this game as they do in the regular games? Or how about if your party HAD more SP to work with? :ajbemused:

Anyway, after a little more exploration, I headed back to heal, save, and sell off vendor trash. Which netted me enough money to buy new armor for Yu...and that's it.

God, this is getting annoying.

And that about does it for this week. Didn't really get much playtime in with Persona Q since last time because I've been too busy with other things.

Oh! One thing of note: I've now defeated one each of the two types of FOE in the first dungeon. Go me!

NEXT TIME: Continuing the Group Date!

I pretty much did what you did. I just marked the floor a different color. Whenever I come across an Event, I tag it with a note, because some will unlock new requests back at home base. I add in the closed or open doors, and draw the walls in. Oh, and I also mark mining spaces.
