    Sincere Shilling!

    If you like D&D stuff, or just tabletop rpg stuff in general, one of the people I follow online is trying to get funding to create something to sell for Dungeon Masters to increase immersion.

    Happy Holidays

    This is your yearly reminder that I wrote a decently funny Christmas story in the long-ago times. If you haven't read it, you should! If you have read it, maybe you should just stick with blurred memories of how good it was.

    Books!

    So, due to my high level connections here and there, I now have an advance copy of several highly sought after ponyfic books. Now that I've had a chance to check several of them out in person, I have to say that Ponyfeather Publishing does excellent work. Anyone able to pick one up, at Bronycon or ordering them afterward, should totally do so.

    Last Week on City Of Doors 7/7/2019

    So, I've actually been posting on my primary blog lately. Which has been nice, given that I've pulled myself out of depression enough to actually do stuff like that. So, here's been my daily content over there:

Яarity by Mist

Another confusing one. Better writing that the previous. Mostly because the confusion is intentional this time. The story aims for a surreal can’t tell what’s real feeling. Doesn’t quite pull it off, but gets real close. Worth reading if you want something a bit wonky.

Needed just a bit more in my opinion. Decent short story, okay writing, but just a little too short. Just not enough to support any kind of immersion or emotional connection.

Moonwhacked by shortskirtsandexplosions

Fun story. I read this out loud to my mom, and we both enjoyed it. Each pony’s dream was fun and matched well what you think each character might be dreaming about.

Way silly. A bit of seriousness, but mostly just wacky shenanigans. A over the top crazy Applejack in power armor doing everything with massive amounts of collateral damage everywhere. Totally unrealistic on several levels, but lots of fun. Plus it’s always fun to read a story where Rainbow Dash is the voice of reason and rationality.

Twilight slowly reads a book by JumbledThought

A gimmick story, but I found it amusing. Plus I can totally see Twilight Sparkle acting like she does in this, especially the end. It reminded me that I’m still waiting for the story where Princess Celestia keeps assigning more and more unreasonable tasks to Twilight as a lesson in admitting when you can’t do something, or asking for help, or simply to get Twilight to admit Princess Celestia was wrong about something. Princess Celestia trying to snap Twilight Sparkle out of her hero worship, basically. The comedic twist, of course, would be that Twilight Sparkle keeps accomplishing the impossible things.

As always, The Big Master Review List is here: { THE MASTER LIST }
If you know of a text-format reviewer I'm not keeping track of, please let me know and I'll see if they meet the criteria to be assimilated into the list.

If you are an author who wants a more detailed review of a story I've covered feel free to message me. My reviews tend to be fairly light, mostly just reactions to a story right after reading it. I am happy to give a more careful read and reply to anyone who wants more precision and/or feedback.
