New Audiobook by ThelifeonCloud9: All Nightmare Long

    Happy Nightmare Night, everypony!

As part of this year's Month of Macabre, ThelifeonCloud9 has released an audio production of my story All Nightmare Long. (Trivia time: Cloud9 got her start in fandom audio productions four years ago, with a bit part in Scribbler's production of another story of mind, Holder's Boulder.)

    Check it out below:

    Audiobook Directory

Over the years, several fandom YouTubers have created audio productions of stories from the Horse Voice bibliography. These are now very numerous, and so for the convenience of listeners, I have compiled them here.

Many thanks to those who liked my stories enough to create these great renditions.

    You Are Not Alone

This message is very, very late by the standards of the Internet. But my conscience won't let me rest until I say how I feel.

A week ago, news broke that former fan-author Jetfire2012 had taken leave of his sanity and picked a fight with an entire crowd... with predictable and well-deserved results.

Dear Ponies, Allow Me to Play You Out

Here in Canada, tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. And so for myself and other Canadian bronies, the timing of Pony's finale, almost to the day, is quite fitting.

But really, who needs a red-letter day for thankfulness? This event may be bittersweet, but we can all be thankful for the good times, for the lessons that help us, for our creations, and for each other.

My Interview at BronyCon: Slightly Less Cringey Than I Expected

"Um, uh, uh, er, um, uh, y'know..."
    --Me

Surprise, everyone! One of my fans, Tyler Hinton, managed to find me at BronyCon 2019 and ask for an in-person interview. The result: About six minutes of me spilling my guts, interspersed with ten minutes of "um's." Luckily, Tyler edited the boring parts out, so my long, rambling answers don't drag on too much.

Horse Voice: The Soundtrack · 9:49pm Oct 2nd, 2015

Surprise!

One of my other hobbies is putting together themed mix discs. Since much of the Horse Voice bibliography is heavily inspired by music, I thought it appropriate to make one that would perhaps give readers a little insight into the stories' origins. Most of these pieces' influence will be obvious. Others, I'll leave you to guess at.

Since this mix is rather eclectic, not all of it will be to everyone's taste, so I've included time links with the track list in the YouTube page's info bar, which will allow you to skip to different pieces.

Turn up your speakers. :rainbowdetermined2:

Track list:

00:00 John Carpenter - This is Not a Dream
00:52 Johnny Cash - The Man Comes Around
05:17 Lou Reed - Edgar Allan Poe
08:36 Blue Oyster Cult - The Old Gods Return
13:12 Domination Black - House of 1000 Eyes
16:49 Lordi - The Riff
20:33 Sonata Arctica - Wildfire
25:10 Alice Cooper - Welcome to My Nightmare
30:28 Santiano - Johnny I Hardly Knew Ya
33:45 Warren Zevon - You're a Whole Different Person When You're Scared
38:59 Johnny Cash - I Hung My Head
42:50 Corrosion of Conformity - Rise River Rise
47:57 Lordi - Something Wicked This Way Comes
52:55 Warren Zevon - Roll With the Punches
55:15 Alice Cooper - Pick up the Bones
1:00:28 The Misfits - Don't Open Till Doomsday
1:03:04 Dethklok - Awaken
1:06:40 Alice Cooper - Roses on White Lace
1:11:07 Sonata Arctica - White Pearl, Black Oceans
1:19:43 Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper

I have never been so nervouscited.

(clicks playlist)

Not in a good place to listen right now, but I have to say, that is a fantastic album cover.

John Carpenter, Johnny Cash, Alice Cooper, and Blue Oyster Cult?

As that old guy from the movie 'Conan the Barbarian' said, "That is good...that is good."

"You are receiving this broadcast as a dream...."

Despite the rushed, lackluster third act, that was a damn fine, damn creepy film.

A Horse Voice blog post with a playlist at the start of October? That's the Horse Voice I know! You have anything in the works for the Nightmare Night season? I've been looking forward to a good Dark fic by you this month.

Oops! I forgot to warn you to skip "Roses on White Lace" unless you want to be scared out of your wits.

I'm too late, aren't I. :facehoof:

It's hard to say. Things have been tough these past few months, but I'm now on permanent morning shifts, so I'll be generally less braindead starting next week. Fingers crossed the ol' muse comes back.

Aw dang, I wish I had seen this earlier. Going from Johnny Cash to Sonata Arctica looks like something from my playlists.

I shared this album cover with someone and they said that this really looks like a pony album cover you'd see in Equestria. Totally shocking all the parents with the SKULLS. :pinkiegasp:

Prince of Darkness. The first track is from it.

It's not one of John Carpenter's (Halloween, The Thing) best films because, as I said, I find the climax kind of slipshod and squanders the film's potential, but it's not bad. It's very Quatermass-y. Science team finds liquid Satan in a jar, debates science vs. religion, comes under siege from demonic forces led by Hobo Alice Cooper, that sort of thing.

I'm inclined to agree. Heck, we even saw the CMC use ghoulish props in their stage show, way back in season one.

(And now I realize I forgot to add a "Parental Advisory: Grimdark Content" sticker. It would have made the image perfect. :facehoof:)
