I have for some time been mulling over a action adventure story with just a hint of romance. Something to do after other stories get done as I have no interest in trying to do 5 at a time. That would really suck.
I won't give to many details on the matter as that's rarely fun. I do however, wish to share one of the OC's that will play a major role along side the mane 6, a number of cannon characters I've yet to reveal, and 3 other extremely interesting OC's, only one of which is a pony.
I suppose I'm looking for opinions and thoughts. Plus, I'm like the only brony in the fandom without a legitimate OC.
So I introduce you all to
Wrath
A Earth Pony with a black coat, long white mane, crimson red eyes, a scar over his right eye, three claw marks on his left side, a circular scar on the right back of his neck, and numerous scars on his legs. The scars are all gray against his black coat. He usually wears a black cloak with a hood. His Cutie Mark is a black hoof smashing down inside a blood red circle. His special talent is hoof to hoof combat. He is eternally young, about 150 years Celestia and Discords junior. He is immune to direct magical attacks due to special training developed by Earth Ponies prior to the events of Hearts Warming Eve as a means of combating Unicorns. He has white, blood stained wings that appear and disappear at will, his brothers, magically transmuted onto him by Discord before his brother died. His parents were murdered in front of him and his brother beat inches from his death, for protecting Discord before his fall. His anger unleashed and he brutally slew the self-proclaimed militia members. Discord brought him out of his killing frenzy; seeing his brother dying in front of him he demanded Discord transmute his wings to him so that nothing could ever escape his vengeance. Discord originally denied, but was blamed for the death of his family and guilted into action. He has spent his long life acting as a tool of wrath and vengeance, bringing justice to those who would otherwise be denied it. A strong believer that the punishment should fit the crime, he has killed and maimed others, often putting him at ends with Celestia and her, “Love and Tolerance”. He is cynical, stoic, wise, usually calm, and a surprisingly capable leader. A dangerous pony in a normally happy world.
A little gary sue I know, but through out the story his faults are revealed quickly and mercilessly. He is very much the Anti-Hero, and I hope you think he's an interesting character.
P.S. cracked down and got a nice chunk of writing done today and more tonight still.
I also think I want my god dam Spike action. Dude needs that weekend and is six ladies you can't leave them. I want Spike.

Meet my OC, Carnegie
He is a unicorn with a dull white coat, violet eyes, black mane with with a bowl haircut.
Skilled in combat and illusion spells. Enough to test Twilight's magic. Cynical and pessimistic. A narcissist and can be very violent when enraged.
He likes to wear a black, faux-leather tunic despite the temperature.
Don't fuck with him.
Before I even got to the part where you admitted it, all I could think is 'Mary Sue'. Be careful with this one man... You can't have a conflict with a Mary Sue. This is why no good Cadence fics exist.
Hmm, an ancient, weathered warrior with a short temper; tragic past; a history of being at odds with older, more powerful beings; with an immunity to forces commonly used to pacify his kind and unnatural wings serving as a reminder of past tragedies and lost brothers, reminds me of something...

Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, just make sure you don't fall into the usual gary sue traps and, knowing how capable you are as an author, you should be fine.
I will, however, insist on reading all of his dialogue in the voice of Michael Bell.

But certain canon characters will be getting serious upgrades, the other OCs will be quiet impressive as well, and the villain... Well lets just say he makes Wrath look like a putty cat. Also as always, characters need faults and weaknesses or they are boring as fuck (Superman) expect to see them!
I read three paragraphs of a fic where a persons OC Alicorn did a Sonic Rainboom and made all of the mane 6 + derpy fall in love with him... in three paragraphs. I laughed. I will do much better I assure you.

258117 Part of the reasons for the scars is to show he's not flawless as a combatant. The cloak he wears hides his scars so that the other ponies around him don't freak out because of his appearance.
258182 It's a render of Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series, my favourite game series of all time (which is saying something, considering it beats out Final Fantasy, Zelda, Fire Emblem and the Tales series)
It's a 5 part series (Blood Omen, Blood Omen 2, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain: Defiance) with some of the best writing in a video game I have ever seen. The original Blood Omen and Soul Reaver were for the original Playstation, and all the sequels were for the PS2 (though you can skip Blood Omen 2, its a good game but doesn't impact the plot in any way). The writing is phenomenal, the plot is absurdly complex yet extremely engaging and the voice acting is unbelievable with legends like Michael Bell as Raziel, Simon Templeman as Kain and the late Tony Jay as the Elder God.
To give you a taste of what it's like, here's the opening sequence to the original Soul Reaver. (sorry about the sound quality)
You can find all the cinematics on YouTube if you don't want to track down the games themselves, and believe me when I say that while the gameplay is good in all the games and it can seem a little disjointed just watching them, it works superbly well even without playing the game, since it's one of the most story-driven series I have ever had the pleasure of playing.
