SOIAF-styled chapters? · 5:53am Jul 16th, 2015
An idea I've had in my mind for awhile now was styling the newer WRTMI's chapters after George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Each chapter is prefixed with a character's name, which is 3rd person personal PoV character (Like I do with ol' Dashie) and numbered thus, as opposed to individual chapter titles. Because I plan to move the PoV from Rainbow Dash at times to show different events around the storyline, I've been thinking of this is worth my while. Or perhaps a mixture! (example, 'Airshow tryouts vs. that Spitfire bitch, RD-IV').
More examples ala the actual table of contents for the SOIAF books.
Not only can I build up the events of Act 2/Book 2 this way by introducing a PoV that isn't interacting with the main plot (think how Daenerys Targaryen's side plot on the continent of Essos is largely seperate from the events of Westeros), but it just gives me more room to expand the narrative. With each chapter being chronologically ahead of the last, I can avoid confusing scenarios where different PoVs take place at the same time, though I will need to carefully plan on what to show and what the characters will simply hear of.
Anyways, fun idea I've had, wanted your input.
It's a format and writing style that seems to work. I use 3PP a lot (pretty much exclusively in what I have on site here). As to PoV characters as chapter titles, I've thought of it, but not done so yet.
Personally, I like the chapter names too, so maybe you could combine this idea with that into something like this: "37 Brothers No More [Rainbow Dash]" I do like the idea of switching POVs and expanding the narrative. Speaking of that, how's chapter 38 going after all?
Tbh I hope it's not coming too soon cause I still need to reread a lot of Act 2 
And on another note, have you read my latest story yet?

Also do you still want me to make those chapter headers once WRTMI starts up again? I think I still have the photoshop file I was making them from... not entirely sure about that though
