The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

    Some OC Questions

Hey, all! This is a meme by gilgamemesh I've seen around Tumblr, and since I haven't gotten any asks about it there, I thought I'd post it here! Here's how it works: pick a number or multiple numbers from the list, post it/them in the comments, and in about a week or so (depending on how many asks I get), I'll post a follow-up blog about it! And if two people ask about the same number, that's

IT'S DOOOOOOOOOOONE!!!!!!! · 3:39am Jun 20th, 2015

Yes, you read that right! Lyric's half of Just What I'm Dying For... is done and posted! Thank you to all who were so patient while waiting for this piece, and to all who have given it a chance. It really means a lot to me that you have.

Now that it is posted, I have an important announcement! A little while ago, the very kind and talented Emylia Hawke asked if she could borrow Lyric for her story Night Terrors. I was honored and humbled and immediately agreed. Why did I wait until now to post this? Well, for starters, Emylia has done a very thorough revision of her work, so the version that you see now is the latest and greatest! I also waited because her story directly references some scenes in Just What I'm Dying For..., and I thought it would help for readers to know the context before diving in.

Lastly, I'd like to expand upon some ideas I touched on in my last blog, What I've Learned. I said in that blog that I had the determination to finish the fic the first time around, but that the fic still turned out horribly. I've been thinking on this, and I feel like, for me, determination is great, but I still need the motivation to finish or else I will end up with something less than satisfactory. Also, I learned I should only write when I am in a good state of mind and not overtired, as the fic will likely end up a mess.

I also said that I learned to ask others for help when needed, but was afraid of unhelpful negative criticism. To be clear, there is nothing wrong with negative criticism as long as it is given to help an author. But I know that every one of us has received or will receive at some point that token, "Your story sux!" critique, with no further explanation on how to improve. That is the kind I am afraid of receiving. The rest I do take to heart and use where and when I can.

Thank you again for your patience, my friends. I look forward to journeying again with you soon.

XD Yeah, I've gotten negative feedback as well, but I did agree with some and took what I could use to heart. And yeah, I saw that. I was quite impressed with how quickly you responded. :pinkiegasp: Are you some kind of wizard or something?

3166485 For me, when I posted that, it was about '23:45' that would be '11:45' PM, I guess. Or AM.:scootangel:
