Flynn -- err, PONY Legacy -- Lives · 12:24am Jun 1st, 2015
I wrote the first draft of the epilogue of PONY Legacy today, after a burst of inspiration last night which I tapped madly into a note on my phone so I wouldn't forget it.
That makes it sound like the story's almost done, and I can emphatically and regretfully state that's not the case. While a good chunk of the last two chapters has been written for a while, and adding the epilogue rounds things off nicely, three of the chapters in the middle don't yet exist at all, and one or two others aren't done either.
Mind the gap.
However, I did want to let you faithful followers -- and I mean 'faithful' sincerely, as the first chapter of PONY Legacy was first published something like four years ago -- know that machinery is slowly grinding forward. I have a couple "personal project" goals for the summer, and one of them is getting PONY Legacy ready for publication. I've jerked you guys around long enough.
Now, I haven't changed the story's status because from a publishing standpoint it's still On Hiatus. I'm not going to release any new chapters until every chapter is done. Once they've had a chance to marinate, I'm going to go over the story beginning to end with a fine-toothed comb at least once on my own, and hopefully a couple more times with outside help. This is the fic that got me into writing ponyfic, and if I'm going to actually finish it, I'm damn well going to polish it to a shine.
When it's ready, I'll probably release it a chapter at a time on a set schedule (one a week?) starting, hopefully, sometime this fall. Whatever the schedule is, I'll do a double helping at the end, so the last chapter and epilogue will go up together; I'll have punished you enough with the penultimate chapter's cliffhanger, I think.
I hope you're still interested in Dash's in-System adventures, after all this time. I know I can't wait to tell you about them.

EDIT: Fuck. Immediately after posting this, I wandered to Slashdot and the top story is that since Tomorrowland underperformed at the box office, Disney has cancelled TRON 3. I just... argh.
