So I know a lot of people are upset that my updates are slow, especially for Regeneration and Burning Souls. The reason is kinda simple. I'm moving on from MLP. I'm not giving up on it all together nor am I canceling the stories. I just find myself now moving to other fandoms like Helluva Boss as well as my own original work.
Hey guys, one of my best friends, jamescorck, is now open for commissions! He and I have done great artwork together and he's great at making not just MLP stuff but other fandoms as well such as 40K, Beastars, Helluva Boss, and more! Check his stuff out and get in contact to commission him for some great artwork!
Reminds me, never commented on the story. Aside from one passage that kept layering sympathy onto sympathy, which was minor nitpicking anyways, it was a very relatable story about Death. I waited a long time for Scootaloo's last chapter to get posted to read this story, and it didn't disappoint.
From childish beliefs of self-blame for a death, to being introduced to death at such an early age -- I was 5 at the time when I pulled a Sweetie Belle, but more so fearing I'd lose my mother since she was older then me and then realizing I'd die too. Hard to forget that breakdown! lol
And the one pony who had no reason to go to a funeral. Scootaloo. While figuring Diamond died saving her friend was an assumption at first, and least how I'd see her go what with Silver being how she is, I still found myself cheering at what a noble sacrifice it was. It really showed what Diamond cared most for in her life, at least.
It's not often someone is able to kill off a character without leaving in author insert moments that plague many stories on this site and by far not just something restricted to DT & SS related ones either, or how many tend to strip away a character's bad or good traits to fit a story. Yet, that's clearly because not many actually bother to do what so few do with stories: Effort and Dedication to one's story.
You really respected the characters and regardless what anyone thinks of Diamond, it did manage to use her even in death in a meaningful way. While I've read stories about getting rid of Diamond and her family and the Apples get along better because of it, this story managed to do so much to show how one does it in a more believable and none malicious way.
It was a really great look at how various types of people with certain outlooks and sensibilities handle the notion of death when it hits so close to home at such a young age, it really was fun to read each chapter. This type of story is just one that demands to be read in full. I'm glad it got that shiny green Complete tag on it.
Blah, blah, blah, I'm rambling apparently.
TL;DR: Apple Bloom's arc and that Scootaending was all worth the wait. Wish there were more quality epics for these 5 ponies more often. Sweetie's cooping with Death was well handled. Diamond was treated like an actual character. Much props. Much love for this story.
You wanna know who else can do a dramatic reading of WYAC? Dr. Wolf. He's an analyst who includes afterthoughts at the end of his readings saying things like the passing of a loved one. Or in this case, a misunderstood bully. He's very popular. Shall I recommend this literature to him?
Has he done the whole thing yet? :O
