Beyond the Borderlands Q&A Session! · 5:00pm May 19th, 2015
Yesterday I wrote over 10,000 words, most of them on Beyond the Borderlands, and there's very little left to do as the release date gets closer and closer. Cover art is being worked out, a release date has been tentatively set, and both a preview and a trailer are in the works (and you'll see them soon).
But that's all to be expected, right? What else could there be?

Beyond the Borderlands Q&A!
Well, almost. Questions today, on whatever you like that's Dusk Guard related, but preferably Beyond-related. And then tomorrow I'll upload all the answers. Well, answers to what I can answer without giving away spoilers. I'm not going to give things away. But I might offer hints, teasers, or just plain cool information. I guess it'll all depend on the questions asked.

Sweet. Ok, random question: how many sets of stairs will the party have to deal with? I'll come up with more legitimate ones later.

- Who's been the hardest character to write?
- What other species exist in this universe?
- Will anything change regarding the status of Arad's story fitting with yours, or are they still two different branches?
- Will they encounter a non-princess funded PMC as a rival group in addition to the regular guards?

This isn't a question so much as it's random musings and speculation. I'll just go ahead and assume you like random musings and speculation.
In the Official Timeline, you show Beyond as taking place before most of the side stories (Carry On being the exception). This originally led me to believe that the Dusk Guard as we knew it weren't going to feature in Beyond, or that the teaser you posted was not necessarily going to dovetail with the main plot. However, you have since clarified that the timeline shows when each story starts. So it leads me to believe that Beyond shall start before the side stories... and finish after them.
I've been speculating in circles for half a year, now, you know.
Aha! Here's a legitimate question! If enchanted crystals were the playthings of the rich and bored (pre-Sky Bolt's genius), then what sort of devices were they used for? In what situations? What industries are going to be wholly and vocally against the new innovations?
On that note, when does she get to throw wine into Pony Stark's face?
If this has been answered in one of the stories, just aim me in the right direction: What sort of government do the zebras have? Tribal, most likely? Maybe with a few MLP/Viking-specific details?
What's your favorite scene in Rise?
I think that's all I have at the moment... Still, it ought to glean at least one juicy detail from you! Anticipations rising!
Will Sky Bolt ever come up with the idea of an internal combustion engine? Or does the prerequisite tech not exist yet? What about the idea of using steam turbines to power the props instead of a steam piston engine?
Are they going to use military tactics and call signs?
How much is our resident little fear based child and parents going to factor into the sequel here?
Oh, the other is if or not we also get to see the mane six with our resident guards?
