All Foals Are Born Equal made it into Nonpareil Fiction · 2:36am May 11th, 2015
Technically, A Dream of Sunny Days did too, but they didn't have ribbons back then. Plus, I haven't posted a blog in a while, so this is as good an excuse as any, haha. Anyway, they gave me a shiny ribbon, so here it is.
Another thing some of you might have noticed, I've reworked all the older chapters, like I planned to early on. I do recommend giving the prologue another read through, if you haven't already, but the other chapters have fairly minor changes, mostly reworked sentences, better dialogue flow, punctuation fixes and other small changes. I've also updated the Rainbow Dash chapter to include the central table/map introduced in S05E01.
Now, this brings us to my current dilemma. I usually try not to bring anything too personnal into this blog, but I would like to have you guys' opinion on something. Should I re-submit A Dream of Sunny Days to Equestria Daily? The obvious answer might be that I have nothing to lose, but twice I've submitted stories, twice I've been rejected, and both times it wasn't good for my motivation. They're not exactly tactful in their rejection process. (For those of you who don't know, they send you a very cold form letter that just links to their writer's omnibus.) Either way. I personally feel that my story's good enough, but I could use some second opinions. If you feel that I could improve on some aspects, let me know. If you feel that it's ready, speak up as well!
In the same vein, I'm considering making some changes to All Foals Are Born Equal. I still want to give it more time before I look at it again, but I definitely think it can be improved in a few places.
Finally, chapter 6 should come out very soon. I'm just waiting for my editor's feedback so I can make the final fixes to it.
Anyway, sorry for this all over the place blog post. It's pretty much what's been going on with me lately.
Congrats.

Thanks
hmmm I guess All i can say about posting to Equestria daily is not take it to heart? they seem to be picky, and as is, I gave them a bunch of pictures and sometimes they post ALL of them, other time when I believe them to be REALLY good, they dash them down. But I'm not told which ones they will use or not, so like I said, sometimes don't take it to heart, sometimes they just extremely picky, and well I guess they have to be.
with that said, whatever their critic stuff, take it and learn from it. thats how you get better. also they seem to avoid stories of OC's I think? not 100% though.

Yeah, I get what you mean. I try not to take it too hard, but it's easier said than done. In all honestly, the difficulty of getting recognition is something I'm struggling with. Don't get me wrong, I welcome criticism. I just feel like EQD are often looking for excuses to refuse content rather than trying to feature fun stuff. Either way, I have a lot ot say about how the site is managed, a lot of which I probably shouldn't say in a public forum such as this, lol.
