It took forever, but I got all the feedback I wanted for Sunny Days, and I rewrote everything the way I like it. Now, all that's left is to edit the remaining chapters, of which there are four left. (Plus a short epilogue) It might not look like much, but it's a pretty big milestone for me. I will try to release the chapters as fast as I can, but both the friend who helps me edit and I work full time jobs, so the pace should be about the same.
As far as the alternate prologue goes, I decided to release it as bonus material once the story's finished. While I dislike the original prologue, most people I talked to seem to like it, and the feedback I got on the new one wasn't as positive as I'd hoped. Mostly, I think the new prologue doesn't sit quite right with the early chapters. Still, I like it enough to at least show it to you guys as a "what might have been."
Other than that, I finished the first draft on my first real book, and I'm about halfway through the first round of rewrites. I don't know how far it'll go, or how I'll publish it, but it's going well. I also started another pony fanfic just for the hell of it, but I got a big writer's block before finishing the first chapter, and I went right back to my book. Still, I'm keeping the project around for when I need to get my head out of my main project. Who knows, maybe it'll come out someday.
Anyways, thanks again to all of you who keep supporting Sunny Days. I'm not sure I'd still be writing if it weren't for the great comments and support you guys give me. While I'm slowly moving away from fanfiction and toward original fiction, I definitely won't forget how much I learned here.
Good on you, Ror. I'm glad I was there to help for a good portion of the journey, and can't wait to see which direction you go from here.
