Secrets of a Royal Guard
I've had a lovely week off (not really, I was actually sick but hey we can't always plan things right ;) ) and it is time to get back to work! On Monday Secrets of a Royal Guard will be launching with the Memoirs epilogue. We'll be following the next phase of Silent Knight's life. As with Memoirs I intend for this to be a "serial."
I'll be keeping it up until either you or I lose interest or there is simply no more story to tell. With that said, I have a lot of story to tell! Some sub-plots you all know about. Others you don't. I hope you'll enjoy where I take the cast. As a final note, Patreon supporters, you have access to the chapter one draft on Quill & Blade.
Something: Knight & Day
My next side story is already complete and is just waiting on a second pass from myself before going to editing. I'm doing something slightly different again. This will be a short, three chapter piece that fits into a "what if" Quill & Blade canon. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't. Either way it is meant to be funny and in the future. It features Silent Knight and Sunny Day as the protagonists.
I'll be running Knight & Day relatively soon in my "third update a week" slot. Probably once I get further along in the next Azurite story.
Three of Diamonds
In keeping with a "card suits" theme the next Azurite story will be called Three of Diamonds and is a direct sequel. Azurite built a bigger audience than I had anticipated (it was really just a story I loved and wanted to share, I'm honored it had the reception it did). Three of Diamonds picks up eight months later and will likely run directly parallel in the timeline with Secrets of a Royal Guard.
There will actually be more crossover this time since I don't have to retroactively make them fit like I did with Memoirs/Hearts. Both stories will splash into each other and have some impact on the plots.
I'm also tentatively planning on an Azurite prequel but that isn't even in the loosest of drafts yet.

It's been a fun ride, m8. I've enjoyed listening to the youtube readings of your novel, and it's great to see you keep it up so consistently.

3053495 Right in the middle of it, one of them went straight over my house yesterday afternoon. It was just an EF1 and we had only minor shingle and fence damage, thankfully, but they're predicting more dangerous storms over the next few days so we'll see how it goes.

I can't keep myself from reading ahead! I have no self-control! I recently finished "Memoirs" and if you start up the sequel now, I won't be able to stop myself reading it!
Have mercy on me, be a gentleman to Crystal, and delay publishing for a month or so... And stop bringing shame on us writers who are not as good and productive as you both are!

I've truly enjoyed your foreshadowing and use of careful planning, e.g. the ear-related reason Knight can't wear his helmet inside those ancient settlements. Looking forward to seeing it all pay off!
I have just finished both 'Memoirs' and 'Crystals Wishes' to date twice each. I am now getting unpleasantly antsy for 'Secrets'. Why must you torture us so! fifty three chapters for him to finally catch a clue that Crystal fancied him. We still do not have his view of what happened back in high school drama club during the 'Romehorse and Julimare' thing. (i have been looking for that to show up somewhere, and if it surfaced in a blog post if someone could point me to a link i would love it.)
On question, I noticed the AU tag and since I have read through the stories I am having trouble coming up where the Alternate Universe comes in. Is it just because of Cadence being a unicorn originally and not a pegasus like she was shown to be in the comics?
