On Broken and other stories... · 11:36pm Apr 20th, 2015
Just a quick update for you folks, letting you know what's going on and what's happening. Just a few updates here, so we'll handle them one at a time.
Broken -
We've begun production on Broken once more. Thanks again to Grand Moff Pony for helping me hash out what's going on with the story, and where we're going with it. Additionally, he's picked up the editor/pre-reader mantle once more. From here out, GMP and I are working together on Broken, and he's helping me get it where it's supposed to go. So for those of you who follow it, you know that I've recently published a chapter, and there's more to come.
Archmage: Ascendancy -
Chugging along. I'm trying to spread out updates across all my stories, so I'll likely come around to this one next, or maybe after the next Crystal Mirror update. Once more, GMP is on-board for this one.
Archmage: Beyond the Crystal Mirror -
This story has always been a kind of off-shoot, a bit of a filler to the rest of the Archmage-verse. I had designed it with the intent of exploring more of the universe I'd made by having Twilight travel to other universes...
Sounds backwards, right?
Probably because it is. Updates for this story will be few and far between, chiefly because I'm unsure exactly where I'm going with it. I bounced some ideas off of GMP, and some of them stuck, but it's going to take work to get there.
First Contact War -
I plan on starting production on this once more. Grand Moff Pony and I are coming together to co-author this story, set around Assassin Monkey's work in the First Contact War universe, detailing the war between Griffon and Equestrian forces. After re-reading what we had written, I found myself strangely hooked, and we really have a good idea where we want the story to go. (I've never had more fangirl shipping squeals in a call before.) But I'm not stepping into this story until we're 100% confident with the content we've created. While I've certainly lost the fervor I felt when first producing the story, I haven't lost the spark. So when it grows into a steady blaze, we'll move forward once more.
Other stuff -
I've more-or-less given up on producing any non-pony content. Each time I put fingers to keys on a story that isn't MLP-related, I end up losing my motivation before the chapter's even finished. I still have a lot of ideas banging around in my head (Three to be exact) and I'd like to touch on them when I'm feeling more confident. For now, I'm staying with the fandom.
And that's it! Aside from some personal issues (wage garnishment, thanks to a late ambulance bill from 2008) and other minutiae, things are more-or-less going well. I plan on visiting GMP at the beginning of May, and with luck we'll crank out some drunken one-shots over that weekend.
