    It's been too long...

Hey there everyone, I know this is probably a surprise after my long, and sudden, hiatus.

So yeah... I'm still here, and I want to apologize for not updating the story in such a long time. I think I said it would only take a week to get out, right? And yet here we are nine months later and I got nothing to show for it.

    A Long Awaited Apology

    Hello my loyal readers!

I wanted to make this small blog to apologize for my tardiness regarding the next chapter of TAOAT. To put it bluntly I've been slowly digging a hole in my life and only recently did I finally get help and manage to drag myself back out. And even then, only about half way.

    A Formal Apology

To those of you who read the previous blog I posted in regards to the most recent chapter, I want to formally apologize for what I wrote. I was angry and frustrated with the way my story, and by extension myself, have been treated. I worded it in a way that put my readers in a negative light, and for that I regret what I have done.

News for The Awakening of a Tactician (Semi-Important!) · 1:53pm Mar 23rd, 2015

So, I mentioned this once or twice in the comments of my story, but I figured it would be best if I announce it in a blog for all to see (if anyone even reads these things). The next chapter of the story (possibly) won't be out for some time. To be completely honest with myself, I have no idea how to write the next chapter. I know that might sound weak, since it's so early in the story, but it's true. I have a general idea for how this story is going to go, but it's by no means set in stone. Most, if not all of the chapters written were thought up on the spot, small bursts of inspiration coming to me. I don't want to force myself to write a chapter simply to get it out, because it won't be good work.

Now, this doesn't mean I'm not writing at all. I still have ideas for future chapters and I plan on skipping about and writing ahead. For example, I have an idea for the 'Dragon Migration' episode. I may write that chapter next while it's still fresh in my mind. This means that while the next chapter may be some time, I'm still writing in the background. As I've said before I have big plans for this story and I plan on getting it done, even if it kills me (please don't let it kill me).

But wait, that's not all! Remember in my last blog I mentioned I was working on a crossover with Flutters I Shy? I believe I mentioned us getting roughly 20,000 words written. Well that's funny, because I've been editing it to work with Robin's POV and I got roughly 50,000 words, and we're not even done! While my last estimate was completely wrong, I think we can work in another 10-20K words. Yea, 60-70,000 words, (roughly) 150 pages for just a crossover. It may seem like we're overdoing it, but I'm having a lot of fun writing it. It'll be the first time Robin will 'jump' the void and will be a valuable experience for him. It throws Robin into a new environment and will really make him think before he takes any major actions. And I think we can all agree, Robin is extremely analytical. Usually (possibly excessive) analytical dialogue can be boring, but you guys seem to enjoy what I've done so far. The story will make you laugh, you'll cringe, and I'm sure, for one aspect, you'll want to punch me in the face... so that's fun!

So how about some feedback from you guys!?
-How do you feel about me skipping ahead?
-Excited for the crossover?
-What do you hope to see in future chapters?

Your feedback is highly appreciated and I truly do take into consideration my readers thoughts. I've gotten some of my ideas from you guys and you're just so supportive of my ideas and this story in general. I wouldn't have made it this far without you guys!
...
Don't forget to thumbs u- *bang*

Thanks for everything,

Nice to hear about your progress. You tempt me to continue working

2902080 Inspiration can be found anywhere

2902090 Especially when I'm working on a third crossover for SSS. This time with Architect of Realities

Sounds like you've got plans my friend! I'm so excited! Good luck with the next chapter. Hope it doesn't kill ya! LOLZ.

Huh, if I could give you nudge here, I'd say show what the book is about. Use the book as a chance to show off parts of his backstory, you could also make Robin read it so he could cross-reference it.

I am looking forward to the Crossover, those tend to be so much fun. Only thing is that they slow down the upload speed somewhat, at least for me... FrostTheWolf can vouch for that. He and I wrote one and he uploaded it almost imitatively, I only posted my first of four, possibly five chapters of that crossover yesterday... I am reworking it into my stories point of view so it seems more appropriate to my story.

2902171 I planned on going with a general description of the book, including a few sections which Robin will read aloud. For the most part, I planned on doing an actual flash back instead of him simply reading the book.

2902207 The timelines between stories can be a bit confusing, but it does give the illusion that time accelerates differently in various universes. Also, I know the pain of editing for your characters point of view. I don't have it all done and it'll still take me some time.

No worries mate, it ain't exactly uncommon to hit a road block here or there and planning ahead means your story may run a fair bit smoother.

Crossovers are pretty much always enjoyable.

2903017 Indeed, but I actually got a small burst of inspiration and wrote roughly 500 words for the next chapter. Funny how these things work out. As it stands, It'll still be some time till next release, but I'm happy I got something down to work with.

Also, this crossover is long enough to be considered a story in of itself! At the very least, it'll add to my word count :pinkiecrazy:
