    Tales off for Vacation

Basically the title says it all: Tales will be taking a couple weeks off; don't know exactly how many, but chapters should be back before the end of April.

    No Tales This Week

Basically what it says in the title; I'm not happy with the quality of 12-3 and it needs a bit longer to sit before it's ready.

    Tales on Holiday Hiatus

The title basically says it all; there won't be a new Tales from Everfree City until the new year. In addition to the upcoming holidays, I used up my backlog of chapters and need some time to build them back up, and rather than having just one chapter in a new Tale drop, going a couple weeks without, grabbing one or two more and then taking another couple weeks off for Christmas and New

    Checking In

I know I missed Tales last week, and I'm going to miss today's posting too; I promise this isn't a(nother) huge absence, I've just been busy with work and helping some friends move and haven't had the time I need to polish up 9-3. It is coming, it is being worked on, and I apologize for the delay.

Ghosts News and Streaming · 3:39am Feb 20th, 2015

Hello again, folks.

I've got two things for you all. Firstly, I'm trying a little bit more radical with Ghosts to get you content faster - I have a 6k word chapter in editing currently, and the next one after that will likely be around 3k words. Before any of you take Occam's Razor to that trend, I give you my solemn word to never post a chapter of less than three hundred words. I just wanted to try out a system I had suggested to me by a friend.

Secondly, an update on streaming. This week is going to be a little different.

After coming to the realization that freeform ramblings on worldbuilding do eventually run out of steam, the PoL team has decided to go with a new format. Ahead of the stream, each of us will read a fic related to the topic (or perhaps we'll all read the same fic and discuss it in greater detail). Then we'll move on to discussing our topic from both the perspective of readers and writers in general, and give you some tidbits about how it applies to the Price of Loyalty universe.

This week's topic is Character Development in Adventures - how the hero's arc (or even the arcs of other characters) really define what we think of as an adventure story. The stream starts at 11 AM PST on Saturday, February 21st.

Will you still be taking fan questions throughout the streams? Or are you planning on letting those build up for a few weeks or chapters, and then having a stream with a wide open floor?

You guys are definitely right in the fact that our questions have petered out...at least, until we get new content. :scootangel:

New format might be interesting. I'll try to swing by, if I've got the time.

We'll still have plenty of time to take questions throughout the stream. We just wanted something else for us to focus on so we don't say "Well... anybody have any more questions?" like 5 times in the stream.

Before any of you take Occam's Razor to that trend, I give you my solemn word to never post a chapter of less than three hundred words.

That just lets you knock 'em out real fast-like. Soon enough those 1150+ chapters (and counting) will fly by!

Awesome. Looking forward to the new chapter and the stream.
Of course smaller chapters means content more often, but in the long run, assuming the word count stays the same between both methods, what do you think is faster, lots of little chapters or few big ones?

Hard to say. I'm about half done with Ghosts 24... even though I haven't posted 23 yet...

In terms of finishing the whole fic, I would probably do larger faster, but the goal is to leave you guys hanging less between content updates.
