Theory: the Alicorn Scamulet · 2:34pm Feb 14th, 2015

Trixie may well be Equestria's greatest con-pony. This theory arose on the Skeptics guide to Equestria on the subject of the Alicorn Amulet... where it came from, and so forth.

The main issue was why would someone make an amulet that gives you supreme power, but makes you crazy? What if it wasn't just a side effect?

Well, the answer is clear: if it wasn't accidental they wouldn't. So the real question is, who stands to gain from looking crazy?

The answer is again simple: Anybody who uses the amulet for evil.

Like Trixie.

This theory may well be a load of hooey... but what if, years ago, when the amulet was made, the creator created a rumour, and wrote in his books, that the amulet made people lose their minds. Maybe as a safety feature to ward against people using it... or to give him plausible deniability for his actions.

And all across the ages, ponies using the amulet use this rumour to it's fullest, and pretend to go mad whilst taking over Equestria. Then, if/when they're stopped, they cast the amulet aside, beg forgiveness and say that the amulet 'made' them do it. And in their leniency, Celestia let them go free.

And then Trixie gets wind of this amulet, and wants to teach Twilight a lesson. Maybe not kill her... but really humiliate her.

Using the amulet, she takes on her nemesis, and casts her out. She then proceeds to enjoy her new position for as long as it'll last... for sure enough, eventually Celestia and Luna will hear of this and stop her.

Unfortunately for poor Trixie, Twilight manages to defeat her first. But the end result is the same: Trixie feigns madness and is forgiven.

Is this theory completely insane? Or is it perhaps food for thought?

I dunno'. I made it up on the fly. I hope you enjoyed it, though.

Have a good one!
