Postmortem: Heat in a Bottle · 6:45pm Feb 11th, 2015

Jumbled sits in college about seven months ago. He looks at One's Responsibility to Their Family and The Great and Powerful Snails. Both clopfics, his first two clopfics. Neither really liked, and both very stressful stories to write, especially since he is the sole editor of Responsibility.
"Sigh."
"What is it?"
"I'm stressed, and kind of tired, and thinking about clop."
"Clop is good. Or at least hot."
"Yeah, but my skype group says (and said until I left) that clop authors are bad, that clop has forced some authors to leave, and once you start, that is all you do. I don't want that."
"You could do a clop dump. Maybe with this idea you discussed recently?"
Jumbled checks the idea. "Maybe. I'm a bit busy though. I'll give it some thought."
Over the next few weeks I would spend time thinking about an idea I had thrown at a friend for a villain's revenge prompt he had done. This idea had been Flim and Flam causing mischief with a bottle that would force a mare into heat. Those few weeks stopped this from simply being a clop dump to being a shameless as fuck, clop filled, world builder. I honestly was floored when so many people would tell me that they were interested in the story, and that is because to me, this isn't/wasn't a story, it was just my place to write clop when I felt like it so I didn't only write clop.
However, I did make arcs, and some of those arcs in my head have become ridiculous and jumbled up messes that excite me for when they might come out. But in the end, it was just supposed to be a side project of mine, hence why it never got cancelled even though I dropped the story almost four months ago. This decision had been made because the threads made it slightly stressful and restricted, but also because my clop writing became far more regular.
So why is this blog here? Well, it is to say that it is coming back. I have the next chapter currently in editing and hope to continue it, at least for a bit. Will I complete it? No. Heat in a Bottle by nature will never be completed because it will always be my clop dump, just while using this bottle of FUCK ME NOW! So yeah, a new chapter of the story is coming up, and war in the comments to try and sway me about which characters you want to see continue their arcs next.
*Edit* Heat in a Bottle is a fic I am fairly proud of. I like the lore I made up, I like some of the filthy reasonings I've given, and I absolutely love the ideas that have spawned from it. The writing in it though... is not some of my best imo, partially due to lack of experience writing clop. I did do some edits to Chapter 2 also to extend the scene with Apple Bloom a bit before Big Mac decided to try to fuck her because I believe that is why it got so much hate. At least, part of the reason anyways.

lol amazing how stories can spiral out of control from the authors hands and how it changes their original intentions. its kinda funny and scary at the same time how that tends to happen.
