Short Version, Long Version-Take Two · 1:01am Feb 7th, 2015
Short version, the next chapter for The Dawn Of Dusk Shine (Sunrise) is taking longer than I expected. Mea cupla, mea cupla.
Long version, the next chapter of this story is taking longer than I expect because writing it is less "comedy" and more "bleeding on the screen, because this story is hitting too close to home".
Princess Celestia re-discovering love and romance after how many centuries of lack? Oh, that has to hurt. Especially since that bit of her that is responsibility won't let her get away with her heart running off in any random direction.
It's getting done, I'm about 75% of the way through the chapter. But, I have to go back often enough to try and make this part funny. And, not in a black comedy sort of way.
I was gonna be all "ha HA, I'm gonna get two chapters out between two of yours!"
...Then actually looked, and realised that you've actually posted two chapters since my last one.
So I'ma just shut up and slink off.
(Also, I know your pain.)
Hitting too close to home, eh? Hmmmm... Now you've got me wondering, because I know that feeling, but I suspect it's from a different cause for you because the story doesn't seem to be anywhere near something that would hit like that for me.
Just think how close you'll feel to your story afterward, though.
Way to shove Luna off to the side.
2775303 Don't slink off, up to the bar for a round, last call's coming up and we're gonna stiff the barkeep the tab.
(Actually, the barkeep still owes me money, so it all works out.)
2775307 It is Celestia's pain that is hitting close to home. Not quite the same, but there are enough points to trade salt for sugar, cheese for chalk.
She's discovering how painful life, and joy can be...

My mind tries to draw corollaries between that phrase and my life whether there truly are any or not, and of course I don't like what I come up with.
You're passing around the "hitting close to home" aren't you?
