I've only actually recommended three, though... and I'm on the fence about a fourth. I'm never completely convinced that I'm judging these stories to a correct standard, but I've been doing my best to review them to an acceptable level.
This gets harder when some of the stories annoy me personally. Like a story about highschool. Or SoarinDash.
Remaining unbiased apparently takes a lot out of me. Thank goodness my massive intellectual ability can keep up.
Then there's the writing quality itself that I have to judge.
I consider myself quite a skilled writer at this point. I've done fifteen stories, I'm a talented english speaker, and I've learnt a whole load of do's and don'ts over time. But there's a bit of me that's never quite sure that I'm qualified.
I kept an eye on the School for New Reviewers, but in all fairness I don't think they told me anything I didn't already know. Don't insult the author, that kind of thing. Well, I'm not in the habit of insulting people anyway (aside from a little snark here and there).
I suppose practice is the only remedy, as usual. Ten is a nice number, in any case, though not quite as cool as nine.

I don't even use binary in my degree. I just know it. I count to thirty two on one hand during long plane flights to freak out the person I'm sitting next to. Hilarious: try it someday.
