Happy holidays to you all! · 7:14pm Dec 24th, 2014
Hello to you all!
I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas Eve if you celebrate it. If you don't, then I hope you're at least having a good day.
It's that time of the year where we try our best to forget that it's dreary wintertime outside*. Instead of lingering on the reality of ice, snow, and icy snow, we instead celebrate family, friends, food, and giving. Not a bad way to spend some of these truly terrible winter months!
Truth to be told, though, it's been well above freezing where I live. Because of that, we haven't seen all that much snow... This is pretty unusual, since Minnesota is somewhat famous for having thick snow cover by this time of the year. It doesn't feel right, not being able to complain about the weather**.
So, this year, we're not having a white Christmas. Instead, it's going to be a kind of muddy greenish-brown Christmas. And that's alright, because I haven't had to do much snow shoveling this year!
Happy Holidays to you all!
~Hoopy
* Unless you live in the southern hemisphere... especially Australia, with your opposing seasons and your deadly, deadly wildlife.
** After writing this, I realized that this was, in fact, a complaint about the weather. All is now right with the world.
More like Hoopy Holidays, amirite?
2675738 Bad pony lover, bad.
A very Merry Christmas to you too, Hoopy.
I don't have snow either. Then again, I'm in Texas, so that's kind of expected. I'm still cold, though.
A Happy Christmahannukkwanzukkah to you as well, Hoopy!
And I'm not complaining about the lack of snow, personally. I hate driving in the stuff, so not having it around this time of year over in Wisconsin like usual is a pretty nice break.
It sucks not having snow, here in maine its all we have in the winter. That and the natural beauty, and drugs we have lots of drugs.
I'll take no snow at Christmas, especially when I'm traveling.
It's because Buffalo, NY stole all the snow from your state and my state this year.
Hope you have a merry Christmas too.
Normally, I'd say "In Canada, we call this Tuesday" (freezing with minimal snow. We usually call huge snowstorms 2008), but I'm personally stuck with rain on Christmas (with a temperature of 3°C. WAY too warm for Christmas). Honestly, I'll take a big snowstorm over this any day.
But beside that, have a Merry Christmas.
One of my brothers is about to move himself and his entire family from London to Sydney. I'm assuming that by this time next year, they'll be tough as nails and/or dead from the dropbears.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Hoopy!

I didn't know there are bears that drop on you in Australia. I guess few live to tell others about it.
We're having a rainy Christmas Eve here in Pennsylvania.
I never understood everyone's fascination with snow. It's cold, it's wet, it causes traffic accidents, gets dirty and ugly when cars go over it... what's to like? It's far too warm for snow here in Tokushima, Japan, and I'm happy for it.
This sentiment has nothing to do with my current location though, and certainly won't change one bit when I return to the snow-blessed - i mean cursed, CURSED - land of Chicago, nope nope.
And back at you!
2676507 With a big enough hat, the risk is surprisingly minimal. And being from Down Under, I can attest to that.
Over here in Montana, we've been blessed with a couple of inches of the white stuff the 23rd and 24th. So all is right with the world, though temperature wise, this has been an odd duck of a year, walking around without a winter jacket, wow!
The muddy greenish-brown Christmas is the WORST kind of Christmas. Who wouldn't want a white christmas with a coupple decimeters of snow? That is how it shuld be. It isn't christmas without snow. You just can't get true christmas feeling without snow.
Wouldn't be surprised if our Australian weather snowed just to try and kill us like everything else.
Been a rather nice Christmas break over here in Aus so far with one exception, I got the Flu. Why!? Its Summer! Who gets the flu in summer!? If its not our crazy weather or freaky animals something else just has to fill its place.
Still, happy holidays everyone!
