Things that go HUZZAH! in the night

I should do these more often! No excuse for sitting idle so long.

1. Stories you should be reading

Both of these are incomplete but updating regularly, and both are worth your time if you're in the MoonLight / TwiLuna crowd. Even if you're not, give 'em a shot anyway - they're well-enough written that they'll carry you along even if you're not a shipper.

Supersymmetry by Europa
After the Elements struck Nightmare Moon she was flung elsewhere, but it turns out Luna's still connected to her. Twilight volunteers to investigate and finds herself in a world where Nightmare isn't quite the villain she remembers. Is there a Parallel Universe tag? There should be, and I can imagine more than a few stories set in Europa's world. This is quite possibly the best use of Solar Flare and non-evil Nightmare Moon ever, and what's even better, it's canon!Twilicorn. The theory we get for where Nightmare came from, what she was doing in Equestria, and why she was connected to Luna is a deliciously-thought-out one that I'd never considered, and it works. And see that Romance tag? See the MoonLight group it's in? Oh yeah. Get on this one.

All for One - One for Luna by Wodahseht
Twilight contracts a deadly disease which can only be cured by staying in Luna's immediate proximity. Neither is terribly happy about it, and it gets worse before it gets better. That could've been a terribly contrived plot device but Wodaseht does a great job setting it up, exploring it, and keeping it from descending into Easy Mode Shipping territory. The tie-in to Boast Busters is a nice callback and manages not to hammer the reader with exposition or info-dumping. Shades of Oldnew Luna in reverse, if anyone remembers back that far.

2. Curmudgeon's Corner

Pet peeve of the day: stories that hinge on Twilight forgetting everything she's ever learned about Friendship. "I'm the Princess and Alicorn of Friendship now, and even though I got here by making friends and getting out into the world, I'm going to bury myself in research and treat ponies as numbers and completely forget how to interact with non-book entities!" Seriously. The entire show has been about Twilight's progression and growth from an asocial bookworm into a Princess of Friendship whose stated goal is to spread the magic of friendship across the world. Deviate under an AU banner if you must, otherwise... no. Just, no.

3. Collabs

Shout-out to my comrades and conspirators in the MoonLight collab! The parent story collection Full Moon Fever just laid down its 70th prompt-based chapter and it's a beautiful sight to see. There are some real heavyweights in there, and delectable Best Nightmare x Best Nightmare Bait Librarian shippery of every flavor.

4. Where I've Been

Currently Writing: A Twilight x Chrysalis piece in the style of Pursuit. Also it has a song, because apparently one song wasn't enough.
