Nightly Pokemon X update go!
Having won the first gym badge, I wandered over to Route 22 (which is a dead end for now) to catch some new Pokemon and battle the Trainers there. After catching everything I can catch there, I proceeded up to route 4, which is where I am now. I'm working on catching what I can catch there, then I'm going to finish taking on all the trainers between where I am now and Lumiose City. I may be stuck here a while, because the two Pokemon I haven't caught here yet have low encounter rates...one of them has possibly the lowest encounter rate ever.
(While I have said in a previous post that I'm going through Pokemon X blind, and that's mostly the case, there IS one bit of info I'm using: Pokemon encounter lists by area, so that I'll know what to watch out for and when to move on.)
Pokedex completion: 36 encountered.

So, did you trade some of your old party in, or were all of those encountered in-game?
I have to wonder why you got Pokemon X instead of Pokemon ORAS just going off the list off things you will never see in Pokemon X (because Nitendo refuses to properly update the game to at least make it compatible with the Pokemon in ORAS) and how empty X is post game..the logical choice IMO was to get Pokemon ORAS.
But on topic I'm glad your are enjoying the game so far and I don't advice you strangle yourself with the need to catch everything just yet.
Are you playing with Exp Share turn ON?
Just for the record, I breezed through six gym leaders and Team Flare in five days, and hardly did any training at all in between them, as I had ended up avoiding as many trainers and battles as I could between cities in an attempt to find all the clothing shops. In other words, you won't have to do much training once you beat the second gym leader. My team throughout almost the entire game has been Beedrill, Charizard, Greninja, Pidgeot, Raichu, and Lucario (although they evolved as I went, that's just what they are now).
dont know y ur wasting ur time with a damn Burmy...those things r near useless...and thats after they evolve... (Male and Female BTW...i dont like either Wormadan or Mothum...both r equally useless)
2641827 All of those Pokemon are found between the start of the game and the second stop on your Pokemon journey in Kalos. I don't presently have any game that's compatible with Pokemon X to trade nor the cash to use the premium Pokemon Bank service.

2642180 i gave up trying to fill the pokedex a long time ago...after Emerald it just became a fools errend, now i only catch and use pokemon that r at least useful in some way. and i found little use for Burmy, its a gimmik pokemon with below average stats, even for a Bug Type, i find that even the Butterfree line, perhaps the worst of the Kanto Bug Types, was more useful than Burmy...of course, this is only my personal oppinon...but when Burmy ranks number 1 in the top 100 worst pokemon listings (unofficial) that does say something...
