Merry Christmas! Here's what's been happening and where it's going.

So here's what's been happening for... well, years now. First of all, I was a grad student, trying to get a Master's Degree. I had some big up s and some decently bad downs. In addition, I was unemployed for seven months AND I live with my parents. Not exactly a good combination for free time, not having money and being hounded because of it. Then I finally managed to get a job... as a

Thinking of the past in the future

So good news, I finally finished a grueling class and managed to get an A in it, so I've got about a week or two of mostly free time (still need to find a job). So expect updates coming.

Trying to get back in the groove (Fan request)

So as you can tell I haven't written anything in a while. Life has been difficult lately, and every time I try to write I get distracted or lose interest. I don't want to let you guys down though, but I can't seem to get the motivation, at least for the stories I already have. I have so many new ideas but I don't want to work on them until I get some other things finished or at least progress

    Patreon Voting Deadline

Just so you guys know my first Patreon fanfic poll will be ending tomorrow. This is deciding which fic I will focus most of my effort on and (hopefully) finish the next chapter by the end of the month. Right now it's 2 to 2 between "Epicness" and "(Un)Dead" (so I may have to just toss a coin. Remember, $1 patrons get to vote, and $3 patrons get to look at and leave comments on the fic google doc

    Getting Down to Patreon

Some 6 month internship ended, and though I will be looking for a new job I will also be using to this free time to both get back to really working on my fan fictions and start using Patreon in earnest. As I mentioned before, I'm going to have one tier on my Patreon where Paetrons can have a look, and leave comments, on certain fanfic chapters I'm working on. So here's how this is gonna work.

TMWoE Character Tropes (Updated 1/23 10:12 PM) · 5:17am Nov 26th, 2014

Inspired by this.

Long have I wanted to do a tv tropes page for the LoHAV/H universe, but it just seemed too complicated what with how crazy and interconnected the universes are. However, I figure I could just do it for Gilgamesh, and maybe a few others. This post will be updated. Now, I just need to pick out a good pic for Gilgy.

Not bad, but could be better.

Getting there.

… Perfect.

Gilgamesh
Sent to a version of Equestria due to a naginata purchased by The Merchant, Gilgamesh arrived in Equis during a time of war between the Kingdoms of Equestria, Griffonia, and the Minos Tribes for domination. Gilgamesh took on all three for fun and kept winning, even against the Princesses, for a century before finally losing on purpose when the three armies united against him. Sealed in stone for a millennium and a half before being freed, he's back for more fun, specifically more fights. After seeing how much the Princesses power waned and realizing his weapons and transformations were stolen from him he decided to both regain his lost power and help Celestia and Luna regain their former glory so he could have a proper rematch with them. However, due to the arrival of the Demons of the Rift, Gilgamesh has decided to defend Equestria and it's citizens, whether they want him to or not.

Tropes related to Gilgamesh:
All-Loving Hero: Has shades of this. Insists that Kat had no legitimate reason to wipe out her universe's Changelings and blames himself for not teaching her better. Also considers defeating entire armies without killing or maiming anyone his greatest achievement.
Ascended Fanboy: Like most of the characters in the LoHAV/H universe.
Badass Boast: Many of his introductions, but two stand out as also being death threats.
- “You have attacked this city, slain innocents, and harmed my student. Congratulations, you mindless beasts, you have earned my undying rage.”
-“I am Combat incarnate! Sturdier than the grandest mountains! More graceful than the ocean waves! More intense than a raging inferno! Swifter than the winds of a hurricane! Gaze upon this red scarf and TREMBLE, SERVANT OF EVIL, FOR YOU FACE THE MIGHTIEST WARRIOR IN ALL EQUIS! YOU FACE ME, GILGAMESH! AND YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED HERE! PREPARE FOR YOUR END!"
Berserk Button: Has a few.
- Chrysalis learned the hard way not to interrupt his introductory speeches. It's implied Celestia did as well. Played for Laughs.
- He was completely pissed Kat broke her promise. Thankfully, he held back due to their friendship.
- He was rather upset with Melusine not only for using Twilight to harm others but for taking away her free will in the first place.
- He loses it for a moment in Nemesis' universe when he found out the Princess Celestia labelled the Elements and Luna as wanted criminals. Also, if Luna hadn't ordered him not to he would've slaughtered all the Ellura forces attacking Ponyville in Nemesis' universe. The very idea of evil being successful make his blood boil.
Beware the Nice Ones: Despite his love of combat he is a good person that doesn't like to bring misery and pain to others. And may god help you if you enjoy those things.
Blood Knight: Though it isn't the only thing he derides fun from, he lives for a good fight. He doesn't even care if he wins so long as it's satisfying.
Boisterous Bruiser: Channeling the character he's become into, especially his introductions.
-Bruiser with a Soft Center: That being said he does know when to add a gentle touch, like with Fluttershy, and genuinely appreciates Twilight calling him a friend.
Calling Your Attacks: Usually when he's having fun. If he's serious or angry he either doesn't bother or does it more like a war cry.
Combat Pragmatist: Though he prefers a fair fight he has no problem with using everything in his arsenal to win.
Cultured Badass/Pop-Cultured Badass: Surprising many he's a classically trained pianist, ballroom dancer, ballet dancer, figure skater and flamenco dancer. That being said, he still enjoys more modern music and his life philosophies are based around typical shonen ideals and the teachings of Bruce Lee.
The Dreaded: Is this to the ponies, the dragons, and probably every other race as well. Thankfully for them, it's a bit inaccurate.
Elemental Powers: Plenty due to knowing all of Gilgamesh's spells from every incarnation of him. They are as follows:
-Blow You Away: Hurricane and Wind Slash. Also the one he has the most connection to, allowing him to use it for air boosts and hovering as well as punches that send his opponent flying without touching them.
-Dishing Out Dirt: Earthquake.
-Gravity Master: Thanks to Kat.
-Making a Splash: Aqua Breath. He can even use the wind to manipulate them individually and make them flat enough to cut through stone and even metal, and even use them to fire beams of sunlight, all a tribute to Ceasar Zeppeli.
-Non-Elemental: Laser Barrage, Rocket Punch, Missile, and 1000 Needles.
-Playing With Fire: Penetrating Beam. Was also able to create fire with friction.
-Shock and Awe: Electrocute.
Flash Step
Has A Type: Princess Luna fits it to a T.
Heroic Vow: Gives one to Luna in return for Ridill. She's actually rather stunned at how genuine it is, and he hasn't broken it since.
Hunk: Luna and Kat seem to think so. The latter, however, finds his immaturity to off-putting. Luna, on the other hand...
I Know Mortal Kombat/Taught By Experience: Though he had some martial arts training before coming to Equis he's mostly learned through a century of fighting and using his new physical prowess to emulate techniques from video games.
In The Name of the Moon: Has sworn in the name of Yoshitaka Amano and Hironobu Sakaguchi.
Large Ham/Incoming Ham: No shit. He even lampshades it.
Lonely Rich Kid: Along with implications of a Friendless Background, several things that Gilgamesh has mentioned in passing hint that he was part of high society before being warped to Equestria, and that he really didn't like it.
Martial Pacifist: Insists the only reasons to kill another sapient being are self-defense or if they are truly irredeemably evil.
Might Makes Right/Right Makes Might: In a strange way, both at once. He believes in universal goodness, but has no illusions that being righteous will automatically net you the win.
Multi-Armed and Dangerous: It's Gilgamesh, and he can transform, so duh.
-Multi-Melee Master: In his first transformation.
-Multi-Armed Multitasking: Uses his first transformation's eight arms to play an acoustic guitar and a standing bass at the same time during Hearth's Warming Eve.
My God, What Have I Done?: Two in quick succession Becomes a nearly lifeless shell when Celestia makes him realize that he never considered the emotional damage he was inflicting upon the citizens of Equis. Then becomes enraged before completely breaking down when he finds out that Kat committed the genocide of her universe's Changelings as well brutally defeating her version of Celestia and Luna. Thankfully Kat's promise to make up for what she did and his version of Luna telling him that Celestia was also shocked at his reaction, not to mention a greater threat looming over the horizon, helps him get over it.
My Greatest Failure: Kat Shifter. Even though she's now seen the error of her ways he still beats himself up about it.
Noble Demon: How the Princesses viewed him. It turns out, however, that despite some selfishness, he was actually Good All Along, just not on their side.
Obfuscating Stupidity: Gets others to drop their guard by acting like a child. That being said, sometimes it isn't exactly an act.
Parental Issues: Hints that he really, really, really doesn't like his parents, remembering them as overbearing Rich Bastards/Bitches who even manage to ruin a few of the things he likes, like classical music. He even once mentioned that they think that anything related to manual labor, even cooking their own food, was for 'those less fortunate."
Principles Zealot: His belief that everyone should have freedom, no matter how bad their choices are, is the main reason he doesn't try and stop Pyramid Head from fighting the Princesses in his realm and why he didn't stop Kat from seeking revenge in hers. Thankfully, he didn't have much to worry about in the first case, but what the second case leads to nearly breaks him. It seems he's now adopting a philosophy of "You're free to pursue what you want, but I'm free to stop you."
Real Men Wear Pink: A badass warrior who lives for battle and is capable of curb stomping Equis' two Physical Goddesses… and has absolutely no problem with getting a full spa treatment including a manicure and a pedicure. In fact, he specifically asked for those.
Refuge in Audacity: The main reason he gets away with so much is that everyone else is too busy processing what he's doing or trying to wrap their heads around his bizarre train of thought to stop him.
Sophisticated as Hell: Switches between Flowery Elizabethan English, modern slang, and general polite dialect whenever he so chooses.
Summon Bigger Fish: He called Nemesis for help against Twintania when he was weaker, but usually he is the bigger fish.
Super Empowering: Has been on the receiving end of this.
-Gravity Master: Thanks to Kat, though he can only use her most basic skills, and there's a five minute time limit before a one day recharge.
-Power Copying: Thanks to Jason using his Omnitrix to splice him with Osmosian DNA. Gets migraines if he absorbs too much, though.
-Time Master: Of the Time Stands Still variety, even activated by the Trigger Phrase "Toke Wo Tomare" like Dio Brando. He can freeze time for 30 seconds, however he has to wait two minutes for every second he uses it before he can activate it again.
Threatening Mediator: Between Kat and those who trusted her, the Elements that were still angry with her, and the Princesses. Thankfully, the threat wasn't really necessary.
Trademark Favorite Food: Zebafrican Red Tea.
Walking Armory: Once again, it's Gilgamesh, so duh. Made much easier by his Hyperspace Arsenal. His weapons used so far are as follows:
-An Axe to Grind: In his first transformation.
-Blade on a Stick: His base for and first transformation, and is his Weapon of Choice by default. Also counts as an Absurdly Sharp Blade due to being able to cut holes in reality and allow him to teleport via Extradimensional Shortcut.
-Epic Flail: In his first transformation.
-Heroes Prefer Swords: In his first transformation. Subverted in that it's Excalipoor, so he mostly uses it as either for defense or bludgeoning tool.
-Luckily My Shield Will Protect Me: The Genji Shield, only in his base form, which he uses occasionally for offense.
-Wolverine Claws: In his first transformation.

Would Hit a Girl: And anyone else. It is his stated belief that in combat anything that has no bearing on the fight is meaningless including gender, age, social status, species, and even identity.

More updates. Also, not referencing anything that the chronology of the story has not caught up with.

Those pics are so cool and epic, but i would to see his goofyness

This is an awesome tropes page starter! Also, quick question....... Did Gilgamesh create the Badlands during one of his past fights?

2623545 Well, I wasn't thinking that before, but now...

2624470 Also you typed how Gilgamesh hates the idea of Evil being on top and succeeding, so whats your view if you have one on Malideous and Darth Vulcan preferably from Gilgameshes POV? Are those two characters enough to drive him into a sheer rage just from thinking about them? Expand on how he feels about them or how he might feel about them if you want to go meta for the discussion.

Just went throughout his. It's awesome. Well organized, and in alphabetical order, to boot!

Y'know, technically, one could also use Boxing Lessons for Superman. He taught Kat how to better control her powers, so he's the teaching half of that equation. Now, another thing is, you could also include Multi-Melee Master, with Gilgy having multiple weapons he uses just as efficiently as the others. Another one that can go along with it is Walking Armory, and Multi Armed and Dangerous. I could add a few more, but I don't wanna stack TOO much on all at once.
