Next chapter is about halfway done; Nightblog (6): Why am I writing it this early? · 4:24am Nov 14th, 2014
Sorry for the long wait guys, I've just had a lot going on over the past week, and to top it all off, we just had a visit with Jack Frost last night. Getting to the college while all the other schools that aren't in my district were closed was not only annoying, but kind of skeptical to how they prioritize people's safety of getting there. At least I only had to deal with one class for the day while my other one got cancelled later on. I'm hoping to get this chapter done by tonight even if I have to stay up all night for it, have my team take a look over the weekend, then make necessary changes before publishing by Sunday at the latest.
In other news, something weird came to me while I was writing this chapter: Why is one of the Wonderbolts in MLP called Fleetfoot? As far as I know, humans don't exist in the canon's universe, right? So, with no knowledge of human anatomy in mind, does that mean any human-related terminology is nonexistent? Where'd they even get the term "foot" from? Would it be better for the Wonderbolt in question to be called Fleethoof? Maybe Gallophoof? Wait, that may actually be a good name for her R63 version. QUICK! Somebody write that down!
What do you think? Any of you guys notice any other strange human-related naming in MLP that probably shouldn't be there? Leave your thoughts, questions, and concerns under the comments. Until next time,
This is Dudeler, signing off.
Well, Applejack said "Give me a hand" once, and there have been a few (VERY few) slips of the tongue over the franchise... not everyone is perfect.
Besides.... Sunset Shimmer was originally a pony, became a human... who is to say that Fleetfoot didnt come over at somepoint....
Hands are easy. Minotaurs like Iron Will are well known examples.
Foot...I imagine that works just fine with things like rabbit's feet. There are plenty of examples there too.
I would wager there is no biological terminology unique to humans that do not have a relative equivalent elsewhere.
Same goes for anyone walking upright isn't unfamiliar.
Just when I was wondering when we'd be hearing from you. Excellent.
Jack Frost stopped by too, huh?

It could just be the measurement. So Fleetfoot meaning she quick in a short distance race. It's be like saying Rapid Mile, or Quickyard. Speed, plus measure of distance.
Also, just because they don't have feet doesn't mean they don't know what they are. Animals, as well as other possible creatures, have feet. This all depends on how you view their universe. The easiest answer are the animals though. Apes, dragons, as well as many other mythical creatures have feet. Hands as well (minotaurs, raccoons, ect.).
Just because they don't use the terms often doesn't mean they are nonexistent. It's simply something not common. Again, it all comes down to how you view their universe and what you believe they would find to be appropriate. (On a side note, I at times think I take Fanfiction a little too serious. Especially when I begin to debate ethics and common etiquette's... then again, I love that shit!)
Brony on!
2594282 Huh, good point. It was just something that came to me that I thought was strange.
There are other beings that have feet in Equestria, Griffons being one of them.
2595225 Griffins I'd like to think they have talkns and hind paws.
2595618
But I'm confident, they'll refer to their hind paws as feet from time to time, not human feet, but still feet. If that's how the beings in your world works, I suppose I'll have to accept that.
You have snow? Really? We're still bare here.
2596037 Yeah, around here the weather's almost unpredictable. It started out getting really cold the first few days before snow started falling one night.
2596039 Okay, which state do you live in?
2596041 Oregon.
2596042 Huh... Wonder how long untill we get snow. Not that I look forward to it. Aside from work, I always wanted to train in the snow.
2596044 I think part of the reason why we get it in various times around the season is because of how close my town is to the mountains, especially to apparently one of the most popular ski resorts, Mt. Bachelor. Though, I'm not much of a winter sports person myself.
Like what some of us have said, there's probably just a few slip-ups here and there in the canon mlp, really. The #1 hands (in young fliers competition if I'm not wrong) they use are too human-shaped to be anything else in my opinion.
Yeah that was found in cinemare sins btw
