So I took my little Background Pony vacation thingy for relaxation and sanity...
...and I wrote nearly 90 pages of fanfiction. Wtf.
So yeah. Maybe I shouldn't do this more often.
Anywho. I have been feeling in a bit of a renaissance mood. I guess that's what made this Tartarus thingy. It's based on an original story concept or two I had in my head. The dastardly grim dark piece you see on Fimfiction is something I wrote in two sittings. Then I sat on it for about a week and compiled Vimbert's, Props', BrianJ's, and Razgriz's comments on it to make it into something uploadable. Maybe I'll toss it EqD's way. Maybe I won't. Whatever. I'm proud to think that I can slap other stuff together that isn't about the Last Pony or the Forgotten Pony or the Applejack-Hard-Crushing pony.
In theory, there could be more shiet to happen in this fic's universe. Call it TARTARUS-VERSE. It's like the one place that Sora, Donald, and Goofy refused to go to cuz it didn't have Tron or Johnny Depp. Also, Squenix sucks.
I also wrote another fanfic during the interim. It also took two days to do and--of course--is REALLY FUCKING SAAAAAAAD. But, for various reasons, I won't be uploading that for another two to three weeks. I swear, one of these days I'm going to write a happy story. I really, truly want to. But it's so hard. I'm addicted to tears and catharsis and Lyra's inane rhetoric. Whatever. All in due time.
I'll be getting back into gear with BG. I dunno when the next chapter will be posted. Maybe Monday or Tuesday of next week. We'll take it as it comes.

But your tragic-as-fuck stories tend to have happy endings. I mean, that guy Spring Step managed to put his family out of their misery and die peacefully himself. Given the nightmare death world he was trapped in, that's saying something!
The jury's still out for poor Lyra, though.

You don't need to write "happy" you could just write "normal". You know: "boring" but "interesting". Like what you already write but without a tragic motivation and with multiple characters?
Not that what you write isn't amazing, ut amazing writing to not restricted to specific themes.

Seriously, dude, take your original concepts and make them original. You're too good to just keep them in the ponyverse...Besides, at your speed, you could rip out three short books in like a month.
That said, I'm still loving the pony stories you have written, and eagerly await more.

He writes one massive story about how ponies are all dead and can never come back, but then refuses to finish it with any kind of ending, and writes about a pony trapped in something akin to a nightmare.
THEN, he stops that to write about a world where ponies only WISH they could die, and suffer endlessly in hell. Were you scared by a pony at a young age or something?
I am literally scared of what would happen if you actually wrote a happy fic. I just have no idea what to expect.

I can't lie though, I pretty much pretended that Tartarus took place in Petra and all this was happening before Scoot's showed up. Despite the obvious plot pits.

I don't think you CAN write a fic without copious amounts of sad in it.
It's my suspicion that you were cursed by a gypsy so that you could only drink tears. Writing these fics is what gives you your sustenance.
I think you really want to write more End of Ponies, even if you don't know it. Lyra seems to channel EoP Scootaloo with her monologues and being all philosophical like, and Tears had a big EoP last pony vibe to it (also strips as currency? where have I head that before . . .). Anyway, this is in no way a bad thing, I just hope you start of EoP again soon, even if it is when you are done with Background Pony. Also EoP has some really happy parts to it, even if it has, overall, sad subject matter, But the sharp contrast makes them happy parts all the sweeter.
