The Dawn of Dusk Shine · 7:04am Oct 12th, 2014
So!
One of Those Days will, theoretically, update one of these days. I am making progress! I swear! Blame Twilight. She crazy. I'd blame Elusive, but he's far too fabulous for such foolish things as blame. (Plus, I haven't actually gotten to the point where they're talking yet. >_>)
Upon further consideration, it's all Dusk's fault. That's Twilight's story and she's sticking to it.
But speaking of Dusk, one of your fellow readers by the name of Zakueins (...sorry, zakueins) has decided to support you all in your time of drought, and has written a fine companion piece in the form of The Dawn of Dusk Shine, detailing Dusk's adventures in the Ponyville we all know and love. It follows the same premise, but is quite differently set out and written, so don't fear that it's going to be the same story with a few pronoun changes. :)
It is not a fully canon tie-in (I withhold comment on how close it comes to what's actually going on...) but it's still a fun read! So everyone who's enthused about what's going on in Mare!Ponyville, here's a taste! And if you don't like it, write your own! But in the meantime, go give Zzakueins some love for keeping the memory of this devastatingly slow-updating fic alive.
Alright, back to actually getting some work done... after all, the last thing we need is an anime/manga-style derivative-overtakes-the-original...
...Or... do we? ^______^
Um.... We're already working on the anime series and probably a movie tie in as well...
But seriously, I see both stories as close enough to swap chalk for cheese, salt for sugar. Or to cry pardons. That, and the image of the end results as Dusk Shine and Twilight Sparkle return from their travels shall be...fascinating.
Assuming they don't kill each other first. 2-1 odds on Twilight Sparkle.

Don't forget the graphic novel miniseries, the musical, and the billboard campaign!
If you are having trouble with character interactions, you might try this: act out the scene from the perspective of the Point of View character. It works for me (though it might not work for you, it could be worth a shot).
