I have absolutely NO idea why, but there's always a discrepancy between the running word count in Google Documents and the running count on FIMFiction.
Does anyone know why? Also, I make this blog so people can know the status of the story.

I'd have to check but I bet it also counts the author's notes section that you put at the top or bottom. It's just a guess but seems possible.

It doesn't by any means.
It's not really that it's about counting words. It's about if it can recognize what is a word and what isn't. Both G Docs and Fimfiction Editor have different ways of recognizing what exactly a word is so that it can count in the Word Amount. Which is why different writing programs always seem to have a different word count from each other despite if it is the same story.
Does the code on this site count punctuation marks while Gdocs doesn't, perhaps...?
