Hello, all. You may have seen that my One-Shotober compilation, Story Shuffle, has gone live. You may have also seen that the first story is set at Canterlot High. For those of you who despise everything Equestria Girls, rest assured that few of the stories will take place in that particular universe. I have plans for just about everywhere, including a few places outside of Equestria. I think this is going to be a fun experiment.
Oh, and for those wondering, here's how the random cards break down:

1 multicolored card
6 colorless cards
4 artifacts
18 creatures

2 lands

The fact there's only one multicolor makes me sad. The fact this short story collection exists makes me happy
Well it's certainly an interesting idea, and I didn't mind the first one. Let's see how it pans out.

I've been seeing a marked decrease in hostility since Rainbow Rocks, and a fair number of attempts to jump on the EG bandwagon (not yours.) It makes me wonder whether releasing the last chapters of LGW after it came out would have helped, but I wanted to do it as much to keep my mind clear of confusion as anything else. But I don't think you'll run into too much trouble.
I'd like to participate in this, but I'm not quite sure what all the cards mean. Can anyone explain?

There was actually an anomalously low amount of gold. There are about 1,400 different multicolored cards, roughly one tenth of the total. Even when taking reprints into account, I expected another one.

I think you made the right choice. If nothing else, I was tremendously impressed by your race to the finish. Plus, that you finished it before the movie came out nicely syncs up with how you want Looking Glass World to be an interquel.

From what I understand (and I could be wrong,) the idea of One-Shotober is just that: one one-shot per day for the month of October. I decided to make it more interesting for myself by randomly generating Magic cards to use as prompts for those one-shots.

Oh dear, I'm afraid you don't understand. This is just for me, a personal challenge to produce a brief story each day for this month. I added the Magic card twist as a way of catalyzing my creativity.
You're certainly welcome to use Gatherer as a way of getting inspiration, but this particular story isn't a communal project.
