So, about three weeks ago I started college. Turns out, they aren't exactly light on the homework. Seriously though- I've spent hours just on one worksheet for maths.
Well, that's my excuse for not having the next chapter out yet. It's coming soon, I promise. Sorry for taking so long...
Dear god, don't I know it. XD
When I first went to college, I was like "Awww yeah, this'll be awesome"
Then, the classwork you had? Replaced by full lectures.
The little bit of homework they gave you with the classwork? LOL, HERE IS A MOUNTAIN
I swear it's enough to drive one crazy
But, you get used to it, I promise.
Anywho, looking forward to the next chapter. Glad to know you, and by extension the story, aren't dead
Well it does get easier once you get used to it, and some classes like math just always have a ton of homework.
PSA: if you are are majoring in, General studies, History, or English change your major now! For the love of all that is holy don't throw your life away.
Go to your College Career Center NOW as a new student. I mean it! GO!!! Talk to them and see what the job prospects on your future career would be. Ask what you can do to increase you chances of getting hired.
maaaaath, my mortal enemy.
As a vetren of the college battle and someone who loves your story I admit that I am a bit biased in my opinion and advice here but I am posting it anyways.
Do you realy want a job in the path you are embarking on? Do you know you will enjoy it and can you actually make a living in that field? If ether of these is no abandon college immanently and get a job.
College loves to hit you with fines, have you accidentally scuffed the bed frame of your dorms' bed? Congrats 75 bucks out of your pocket. Need to stay in your dorm over the summer? Congrats you get to pay 4 times the value of staying in ti for a semester. Need to take any non-basic class? Congrats that at least 500 bucks in books. College will drain you of every sent you have.
The degree you get is going to be pretty much useless. All of the fields people like are almost completely filled. Why? They are popular, dozens of people want them. In addition you are likely not from a third world country. Companies will only hire first world country citizens as a last resort because they have to pay us more. Your degree is no garente of a job in that field. It's only a piece of paper which says you can do a job that honestly you could have learned in a year (and earn money while learning) by simply entering that field at an entry level position.
When you get out of college you will be broke or in debt with only a piece of paper to show for it. You will likely not have a job and will be in a worse situation then when you graduated highschool and your parents booted you out into the world. At lest then if you are like most teens you have some savings, and an ok relationship with your parents who might have fronted money for a security deposit on an apartment. But after college, you will likely have had to barrow so much money from them that they wont have it anymore. You wont have a job so you wont have your own and you will have to forge for yourself likely with crippling debt draining what income you can find.
I advise you drop out of college, find a job, get an apartment, and teach yourself anything you wish to learn... and update Pinkie Personalities. >.>
But seriously I did college for only 2 years and am 30 thousand dollars in debt. I learned nothing because the financial aid I applied for and "got" never came, and now I only have a place to live because my girlfriend refused to allow a wheelchair bound girl to be homeless in Fairbanks Alaska. College is a trap.

Thanks for the advice! Although, I think I should elaborate a bit on a few things. First I feel that I should say I'm from england. I'm not sure what the American system is, but here I'm studying four subjects (english, maths, physics and media studies), not majors. Also, I'm going to a local college, no dorm (still living with my parents) so the expenses probably aren't as high as they are in a typical American college. That being said, I'm still not exactly looking forward to seeing the bill...
In regards to my career path, I must admit that I'm not entirely sure what I want to do, although I am looking into journalism. If that doesn't pan out, I've got a decent choice of careers avaliable from my subjects.
2488654 Ah I see! Well you are in a much better position then I am. Hopefully your education actually is an education and not the "You will owe us money for the rest of your life you stupid sheep!" it is over here in this cesspool of a nation.
2488759 It's going pretty well for me so far. I'm sorry to hear of your own troubles- I hope everything gets better soon for you!
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
