    Shin Godzilla

Well, it's been a while since I've done...well...anything on this site. Pony-fatigue is still running strong and my mind is catching up from several years of immersing myself in almost nothing but MLP (from a personal entertainment perspective). But now I'm back, fresh from the theater with a review of Shin Godzilla.
    ...
I'm sure I'll get back to pony eventually...

Movie Review: Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2

So, in between updates on the latest story, I've decided to review another movie, or rather, another pair of movies, both because I have a lot I've wanted to say about these two movies in particular (this being the only real outlet I have for that) and because some of my readers actually seem to like this. To wit, my review of Now You See Me 1 and 2.

    In Other News...TMNT Review

Well, in between editing and posting chapters for my latest story, I found time to see the new TMNT film in theaters and thought I'd give my opinion on it...for those who are actually interested in that sort of thing. So, here it is, my review for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.

    Done!

(Collapses, gasping for breath) It's done...I've finished. The final story of the Savage Skies series is finally complete. Suffice to say, I had originally planned a rather brief kinda multi-chapter epilogue...that ballooned out into multiple story arcs, stretching out into a 173,000+ word monstrosity. It didn't help matters that my muse...

Update (finally) · 7:26pm Sep 22nd, 2014

Hey there! I'm glad everyone's still sticking around and waiting so patiently for my work. I'm aware that my hiatus ran a bit longer than usual and there are a few reasons for that. However, I am pleased to report that the next story in the Savage Skies series is nearly done. Once I finish this next chapter, all that should be left is to make the arrangements for posting (proofreading, formatting, etc...) which might eat up a couple days of time.

Now that I've done that, I'd like to inform you as to the reasons for why this took so long. Firstly, real life has been a bitch. There's no two ways about it. The store that I work in was (and is presently) suffering from a serious staff shortage. That means that everything takes longer and that you have to work harder to get stuff done. On top of that, I keep getting asked to come in for extra hours or on my days off because somebody called out and now we're even worse off. It's hard to find the energy to write when you feel wrung out like a wet towel. And don't get me started on how it's the middle of September and we're already putting out the Christmas crap on the floor. Dear God! The Christmas Creep just makes me feel more and more sympathetic towards Ebenezer Scrooge pre-three spirits. Humbug indeed...

The second, and more important, reason this took so long was that the story would not stop growing on me. What I'd originally intended as a brisk filler arc filled with heartwarming moments turned out to have some of the most important developments in the series to date. As a consequence, a lot of important things happen in this story, particularly in terms of character development and relationships, which make this the longest story in the series so far...even if it is pretty light on the action sequences. I'd thought I was close to finishing a month ago and kept thinking "this next chapter should be the last one," only to find that there was more stuff going on than I originally planned and I had to push it out for another chapter...and another...and another... This is why I never give definitive dates as to when something will be ready by, because I can almost never make them. Even now, I'm not certain how long this last chapter will be, but I'm determined to make it the last in the story...even if I have to draw it out for 10,000+ words. As for when I'll actually start posting...Um...Let me get back to you on that.

indeed, finally :pinkiehappy:

D'awww! I can't wait to see what you come up with. And the fact that it's the longest story of yours to date, while being mostly character / relationship development and fluff. Is something I look forward too.

WOOHOO! glad to see my absolute favorite story is getting back in action soon!

Yeah! Definitely ready for this. But once you start your updates then my own writing time disappears. Worth it though.

How long (if ever) will it take for us as a society to realize the holiday and it's traditions have nothing to do with each other?

I was just thinking about this series this weekend, and thought to myself "Man, Moguera must be busy...or have writer's block...please don't let this series die..."

I'm very much looking forward to this "fluff" piece. I need more Scoots and Dawn, I need more Fluttershy and Caramel, I need all the 'ships to set sail!

Oh thank god! Finally, somthing to do instead of farming relic iron in destiny. You are the best!

Finally, the long awaited day of continuation is nearly upon us. Not that I noticed how much time went by. Dark Souls made that much certain. Curse the Anor Londo twins to the Abyss. Still a fun fight.
Longest in the series you say? And it's mostly (if not entirely) character growth and fluff? Sounds promising to me. The action here may among the best on this site, but I feel the characters and plot both hold their own just as well. I look forward to seeing how this story plays out, especially for Rarity. Poor girl has been sitting in the background most of the time. What makes it worse is that most of her more iconic on-screen moments (excluding while making the dresses for the CMC and the other Elements) were with either the most despicable, arrogant child in existence or Perlin. I'm not sure which is worse. Actually, scratch that. Perlin may be a murderous sociopath, but at least he has some respect for his superiors and equals.

I am both nervous and excited to find out what happens next.

Dude, you can take all the time you want as long as you don't quit. I started Savage Skieis really late and have been waiting for more ever since! I'm actually kind of curious what martial way Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle might end up using, honestly. The Mountain Root is readily available for AB, but Sweetie Belle is quite a bit trickier to say. I'd assume she's more ready for the Still Way than Twilight is, but that's up to you and we haven't yet seen her become interested in participating in something like that.

Take all the time you need, man. Can't rush genius. It'll be worth the wait

Your stories are definitely worth waiting for. Take all the time you need!

...well, not ALL the time, but you know what I mean.

Alright! The longest in the series, eh? Bring it on! :rainbowdetermined2:

I agree with PsychicBeagle; the action sequences are absolutely awesome, but the everyday, slice of life sections are just as good. I'm excited to see what you have in store for us. :pinkiehappy:

Take all the time you need, this is one story i would rather wait for, than risk author getting burned out.

As for them extra work hours, heey, more money :trollestia:

Oh my, I needed to be left without internet for three days to miss that! Now I have three days less to reread the entire series! :pinkiegasp:

Ah, I feel you. I work retail, too. My store doesn't have those same issues (at least not to that extent), but it does have its own frustrations. Our problem lies mostly with an owner who is excessively thrifty regarding building and equipment upkeep and doesn't seem to really know how to run a store effectively. In addition, the people who work in the mornings seem to know nothing about checking expiration dates or putting the new stuff behind the old.

Yes, the key to our company's success is to undermine our boss's authority at every opportunty.
