Has the story gone rotten? · 6:13am Aug 19th, 2014
I've noticed something. Something other than the lack of comments in the past two chapters.
My last chapter was called 'the worst' of this story....
Where did I go wrong? Did I suddenly loose it during the last two chapters? Have I gone off the deep end with the characters?
I do my darndest to keep everyone in character at all times. So when they do something, I think that's what they would do. I put my all into every single line of dialogue, agonizing if it fits with the rest of the story....
Is the Big Mac arc just not funny? Has it hit a snag?
I think it may be because you are only focusing on Discord at the moment, and not doubling back to how Applejack is taking her feelings for Discord back at home. Everyone fucks up at some point or another. You've been there when I made mistakes. It hurts when people point them out, knowing you are responsible for them appearing in your pristine work like a zit on a high school cheerleader's forehead. The best you can do is take people's advice, learn from it, and move on, ignoring any hateful trolls that are attracted to the smell of mistakes and migrate over to your comments section. Don't stop writing, friend.![](https://static.fimfiction.net/images/emoticons/twilightsmile.png)
I'm not sure when I started to follow you, I'm not sure why; but hear me out.
Look at my page for a moment, and look at my stories. Look at the likes and dislikes on them, then look at how many followers I have. The theme of "where did I go wrong" often passes through my head, as I'm sure it does everyone. However, sometimes it is not where you went wrong but why you went wrong. Often enough there isn't a problem, public opinion merely shifts. Other times there is a problem, which needs fixing.
For me, my problem was taking down a story with over 250 thumbs up, and focusing on stories that mattered.
I just finished reading the most recent chapter. The story has in no way gotten rotten. Yeah, the most chapter is a little "meh," other than the Discord-taunting-Luna part (which is always hilarious), but that's just because the whole trip-to-Canterlot thing has run on a bit.
That just means it's time to shift scenes to Applejack and Cadance back in Ponyville and have Discord and Big Mac show up and tell us how it ended. It's still a strong story, I just want to hear another anecdote from Cadence about something bizarre and awesome that happened between her and Chrysalis again.
Also, I just realized, Luna never paid for the apples! I knew she was a bloodthirsty psychopath, but I never realized she would welch on a debt!
Hmm. I personally had no problems with the last chapter, there was nothing that bothered me. I guess I can see where people are coming from when they say a scene switch back to AJ wouldn't hurt, but it hadn't bothered me yet. A little bonding between Discord and Big Mac is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
Nah, it's not getting worse :) Although, I didn't enjoy the last two chapters as much as the ones before them. It's not your fault though. I just wasn't expecting that you'll start writing about Big Mac and Luna (after all, they're not even in the tags) and while I like them and that part of the story seems interesting - I started to read it mostly for Applejack & Discord interactions and that fact hasn't changed. While your writing is still great, the conflicts are funny - I just miss Discord's little talks with Cadence and wish to learn more about Applejack's fears. .
For me, it's the portrayal of Luna. Seriously, going after Big Mac even though it's pretty damn clear he's just there on other business? No, stop. Really, that's just... no.
I came for Discord trying to seduce Applejack
I stayed for Cadence....
Now i am reading about Luna, Big Mac, and a lusty Bat-pony guard
It is still good though
