I've recently started to make them myself, by combining vectors and some fonts (I made the covers for Sleepless and its sequels that way, as well as the current cover of Way To Go, Minuette, Way To Go!).

Well, I can't draw to save my life and when I look at those covers after a while, I usually see all the mistakes (though I really like the Manehattan Blues one). Though putting vectors together isn't very difficult, I think...
