    Huh. I'm Significantly Relieved, Actually.

In a rather neck-snapping twist of fate, Equestria Girls: The Friendship games was not only decent to watch, but it doesn't canonically F**K my most recent story, "Father". In fact, I don't even have to slap the 'Alternate Universe" tag on it. Hah! I can even stop putting it off!

    My Greatest Mistake.

Guys... If I may confide in you.

Downloading Windows 10 was probably the STUPIDEST thing I've ever done (not counting the time I decided to go fishing in Pittsburgh... F**kin caught a dead raccoon). All of my customized setting were reset, my priorities became OH SO un-prioritized, and Windows Media Player has become OBSOLETE!

    For The Love of 'Father'

    Greetings, beautiful people.

Craine here for an update with my recent multi-chapter story, 'Father'. As some of you may know, the first four chapters of this story were updated every Saturday, and I actually intended to keep that up... Until my work schedule changed to eleven-f**king-hour days, six days a week.

So... This Is a Thing Now.

Here's exactly what you're gonna do; you're gonna shower this wonderful woman with adoration and praise, and encourage her to do more readings across the FiM fic-verse.

    Do it.

It's almost funny, you know.

You work on one thing for months and months polishing, refining, making it the crème da la crème of your work. Barely gets noticed.

Then you smoke a bowl, pop a squat and s**t one out in three days with NO editing whatsoever, go to work with neutral hopes, come back and see it on, not only the feature box, but on the top. F**king. Page.

I... I need to take a walk.

(Translation, you guys are wonderful!)

I know the feeling. :pinkiesad2:

Well... Not the top of the box, but... The bottom of the box, anyway. :trixieshiftright:

Welcome to the internet my friend. More specifically, fimfic. :raritywink:

This is a very well known feeling friendo. :ajbemused:

And now you know how the feature box functions.

To quote a Wiseman: "Fimfic is a fickle bitch!"

That is all. Equestria is ours.

Dude, so what if it's got some grammar and spelling errors in it?

As long as it's readable and enjoyable then it's fine. No need to go grammar nazi on everything or you'll end up NEVER finishing anything.

My stories have a bunch of these as well and they STILL make it to the featured box.

Heck my most recent fic, "Some Secrets are better left untold" hit it over and over again every day I published a new chapter this week! (shameless self-plug I know...)

The point I'm trying to make is this, your grammar and spelling matter a lot yes but what's most important in most cases is a well thought out, enjoyable, and in your case, comical story.

Awesome! You discovered how big budget blockbusters work!

Even when you don't try you come out on top!

2288956 Agreed.

A story of mine that I poured heart and soul into, Through the Fire and Flames, still has yet to pass 50 favourites. On the other hand, another story which I shall not name got featured when I put almost no thought into it.

Fuckin' feature box.

2291554
You are blaming the feature box? Just so you know, it's the readers that get it there. It isn't picked by Knighty everyday or something. It's an algorithm that puts stories that accumulate enough likes and views in a short period of time in the box. It's called "heat."

2293851 Wow, I thought it was magic!

No but seriously I knew that. I wasn't blaming the box itself for it.

2293937
Just making sure. Trust me, there are people out there that believe that. It's crazy, really.

2288975 *sighs*... Indeed.

2289037 2288956 Kindred spirits in you both, I say.

2289040 Of course, of course. But the lack of fulfillment is disturbingly similar to marriage getting a 15 cent raise.

2289046 Here, here!

2289214

2289243 Trust me, not only do the errors in this mean nothing to me, but I'm very well acquainted with writers procrastination. I follow a three draft writing process, anyhow. So to have a FIRST DRAFT get featured is a little mind-shattering for me.
...
Very mind-shattering for me.

2289939 Oh Broadway, you flatterer, you.:twilightblush:

2295827 I wouldn't mind getting in the box, though. It would confirm I'm not as psychotic as I think I am... :pinkiecrazy: :twilightsheepish:

That is all. Equestria is ours.
