PatRoison

I'm a writer, and I write stories about ponies. It'll be a good bet that every story will eventually turn into an adventure. It's what I do. A new chapter will be posted every Sunday.

    The Briefest of Delays

    Happy Easter, all!

I'm typing this on my phone since I was dragged to a family barbecue which always turns into a family dinner. That being said, AppleShy won't be posting today, but I will be posting it tomorrow. Everything's going great, and I'm enjoying the new story threads that are developing.

    A 2023 Check In

I originally planned to do a blog post when I published Into the Depths Part 3, but I thought better of it and wanted to have some more chapters published before I did that.

2019 is off to an amazing start

Hello all. Hope the first two months of 2019 have treated you well.

In my case, there has certainly been no shortage of work. People going on vacation, another coworker getting sick, the long and short of it is, I got a lot of overtime that I was not anticipating. I was hoping to write this before the end of the month, but that just didn't pan out.

    Now, onto the business.

    A Long Overdue Update

It's been far too long since I updated anything, and, given the title, there is an upcoming update. In this instance, I'm updating AppleShy. Now, I'm not simply going to post a new part and then disappear for months before I post the next chapter in the new arc. No, not at all. I'm posting the entire arc... and then probably disappear for months.

Holiday Blog and Update via Excerpts

Hello and happy Holidays all. To contribute to the deluge of Holiday blog posts is... me.

    Patroison.

    Um, awkward silence.

Anyway, along with tidings of good cheer, the ending of a year brings us thoughts of the previous months and all the accomplishments that we attained.

Well, since, with the exception of "In Memory Of", I haven't done anything.

Updates and Discipline · 1:04pm Jun 14th, 2014

I's been some time since I've done something on the site, and I felt that an update was in order.

AppleShy- Things are moving along well or at least smoother than they have been. The next part will deal with the arraignment, and the following two, or three, parts will be solely focused on the trial.

PinkieShy- This story is not as far along as AppleShy, but I do have Depths Part 3 outlined and ready to go. The biggest issue I'm finding is trying to keep the story from getting too dark. There are going to be serious moments but nothing truly traumatizing.

Real Life aka Kind of Lame Excuses Section

To start off, I got a new job as a part time park keeper, aka park janitor. It's dull, and I spend all day outside. Still, it's a paycheck that will hold me over till I get something going with writing. I'm outside all day, but I never stay in one spot. I once worked at a call center and it nearly drove me insane having to sit still for eight hours.

The downside is that I get home exhausted and my writing time is even more limited. On a workday, I'm away from home for ten hours. I get feeling too tired to get any writing done, so I think, I'll do some writing in the morning before I go in.

Of course, as anyone who has to get up at five in the morning can attest, this doesn't work out as planned. This is where the Discipline part of the title comes in. This is going to be a real, put up or shut up, time for me. If I really want to be a writer, the I will have to write regardless of how tired I feel. I'm already using my lunch break to squeeze in some writing.

I'm sorry that I have not delivered on a new PinkieShy, outlined and ready to go, or a new AppleShy, already past the halfway point, but I'll keep my nose to the grindstone and I'll get these done.

On a side note, I'm thinking about asking someone to pre-read these upcoming chapters, though nothing is definite. I have an idea of who I would like to ask, but, as I said, nothing is certain right now. I know it sucks that you have to wait even longer, but I have no intention of making you wait.

See you all soon, and, as per usual, stay awesome!

It's good to see that you're still alive and kicking!

Extremely excited to see you back and at it. My patience has not faltered, and I'm sure everyone else will agree as well.

It's nice to see you're writing again! I remember being introduced to this site through youre PinkieShy story, so it's cool to see it'll be getting some more attention:twilightsmile:

Still alive? Check!
Kicking? Um, let me get back to you on that :twilightsheepish:

2206345 I'm grateful that your patience is still holding. It's a big relief, and a reminder that I need to get back on the ball.

2206757 Yes, I am quite lacking. In both discipline and courage. :fluttershysad:

2207156 It's good to be writing again, and I look forward to continuing these stories to their conclusion. I have other stories bombarding my brain, so it's hard to concentrate. That and when I sit down to write, I fall asleep at my desk. The worst thing is that I think I was writing, only to find out that I was dreaming about writing. :fluttershyouch:

I have other stories bombarding my brain, so it's hard to concentrate

Oh, god. I'm going through the same thing, and I haven't figured out a good way to return focus to just one story at a time:applejackunsure:.

But I shall continue to patiently wait for more!

2209301 Well once you figure it out, be sure to share it. It's a pain when I'm trying to write and some story idea pops into my head. I stop writing and note down the basic idea of the story, but it doesn't stop there.

Once the idea knows that it has my attention, it'll begin bombarding me with more and more until I'm torn between a story that I'm already working on and this new one.

I suppose I should ignore them, but I worry that I'll miss out on a really good story idea. A really good story will come back to me, but I'm a little worried to take that risk.
