Writer's block has struck again.... · 7:09pm Jun 11th, 2014
So yeah, I tried working on the Iron Mare chapter.
I didn't get far.
I only managed to get a nightmare sequence done, but I had no idea where to take the chapter after that nightmare. I mean, I figured that Rarity would have some nightmares due to her time in the cave, so it made sense that she'd have at least a MILD case of PTSD.
Personally, I'm not entirely sure if I HAVE to focus on this really, beyond this one chapter, since really, I was gonna tackle this in Iron Mare 2 anyways, since there, I would have already tackled her relationship with Sweetie Belle, and gotten her suit nice and built and, you know, keep things focused on the main character development, and save the complex mental issues until I have the experience to tackle them.
Or maybe I'm just overthinking things.
What about you guys? Do I address some of Rarity's PTSD here, or leave it until Iron Mare 2?
I'd say hint at it for this one but make it a factor in the sequel.
Lay the groundwork here.
That way, once you explore that aspect in the sequel, it won't feel as if it came out of nowhere.
Doesn't the PTSD went into affect after the events of the Avengers ?
2198929 I agree, have someone notice the start of a problem, but have them chalk it up to something else, at first.
2199470 exactly.
That way it doesn't drag the main narrative down.
2199532 A good first hint, which probably wouldn't be out of character, would be Rarity not sleeping as much as she should. And characters checking up on her about it, but dismissing as her being a workaholic.
