    New chapter incoming

New chapter finished. Its going to be short compared to previous ones but its been long enough between updates. Editing starts tomorrow.

Nothing to really report personally. just been busy IRL. Learning to play traveler 2e for my gaming group's also been slowing me down lately but it looks like a fun system

    Got my hard drive fixed

And all my data's been restored. It even costed less than I was originally quoted. Still pricey but I got my data back, and backed up on 3 different USB drives.

    Proof I'm not dead

So I'm aware I've been dead quiet lately, and I felt the need to touch base. So here's a peek at the next song in the upcoming chapter without any context. My way of giving you something. Its no where near finished, but progress is being made.

    Harddive died

Last year when I had my little vacation I noticed my laptop having signs of its approaching death, so I ordered a cheap external hard drive. It was a panic purchase, I am very uneducated on computers aside from their general use, and copied all my data. I since used it as the main storage space to keep microsoft's prying eyes out of my affairs (its the spirit of the thing rather than having

Need some help from you readers · 3:43pm May 7th, 2014

The next chapter of Lord Barleycorn involved more violin playing, and I... sadly don't know a lot of songs that focus on a very upbeat message. Really, Bink's Sake is the happiest one I know. If you could post a few links to some it'd make my job a lot easier.

They just have to sound happy and feature a violin. Lord Barleycorn's playing his violin for an upset foal in this chapter so keep that in mind.

EDIT: I got what I needed, thanks everyone!

get those strings smoking!!!

but, you know, Vivaldi - Spring is never wrong

2085733 Not bad, but I need something a little more modern. I'd even accept something along these lines:

It surprised me when I went through my huge volume of music and saw that were wasn't much in the way of 'uplifting' music. Mostly Metal of one shade or another and that can't be easily replicated on violin. :unsuresweetie:

Does this fit the bill?

also, is it just one violin playing?

2086201 Actually... I think it does. :rainbowderp:
Thanks a ton, man. :ajsmug:

2086208

Not a problem, always happy to help an author write his stories. Here is some more awesome violin music I found on the journey :

2086213 I needed the help, to be honest. The only other bit of Violin music I know is this, and I'm saving it for later. :pinkiehappy:

ah yes, October Sky. Just like Red October. Wonderful stories, great acting, and the best music in non-musical productions I have ever experienced. After all, one could hardly watch the opening to RO without the choir piece. It would miss its soul and the characterization of Ramos. Cinematography may be film's body, but music is its soul.

2086120 it is hard to find good happy music for the violin or that a violin can replicate

How is this one. Most is on flute but wouldn't you be able to come close with only a violin?

2086213
>relaxing music
>first part is American idiot by greenday
I ain't even mad. Sounds hella good on violin

2086213 there MUST be a list of the songs somewhere

2086208 found two more that might be in the category you are searching for.

And

2086637 Damn, some of those were good, but the faster stuff... there's no way Jack can play that. I'd explain why, but spoilers. :pinkiehappy:
Thanks a ton dude. =3

2086227 Yeesh, its been years since I thought of Red October, I'd forgotten the chior at the start. But yeah, I agree with ya there.

2086637
As a small reward for both of you, here's a song from later in the story. It really shouldn't surprise anyone. :twilightblush:

2086890

Oh my, such an unexpected piece. Not like the author had a previous rendition out before hand.
*sarcasm*

Anyway, its reward enough to send someone good music, no matter the reasons why.

2086902 I did?
Silly me, I guess I did. Derp. :twilightsheepish:

In the topic of good music, here is Red October's choir.

You could just look up Violin covers of Irish Drinking Songs...
