Another Update · 12:14am January 7th
So I felt the need to touch base with you all again.
My singles finally got under control, but now my dad's decline seems to have picked up speed. I made him dinner and he came out to the kitchen to get it, wobbled on his knees, and barely caught himself on the counter. His knees gave out, and he fell hard. Gashed open his arm in several places (which we taped up). This time I managed to get him up and on the couch by myself. But he hadn't eaten barely anything today (and yesterday) because he 'hadn't felt hungry'.
He also recently gave out his SSN, and got gift card scammed. both of these thankfully got recognized before anything happened and the bank has locked down his accounts.
The fall itself wasn't that bad. but its raised a topic that my sister and I have danced around for years. (Limited) Guardianship and Power of Attorney.
My dad is a very difficult person when it comes to personal matters, which is the norm for any elderly person. but at this point its become a genuine concern, since he potentially endangered all our finances since his name is on all our accounts. And with his health, I dunno how much longer he's got. I live with him to help make sure he's okay and doesn't have to do any heavy lifting but I'm getting toward the limits of what I can do.
My sister and I are trying to get in touch with our lawyer, who's a trusted friend of my dad so we can set up a meeting and hopefully have this converstation in a place where he won't just shut down and stop listening.
That... is certainly a situation. Not sure how much or little I should comment on it, but its always horrific to watch someone lose their faculties. I hope that the meeting goes well and that the situation can be remedied.
I'm glad you beat the shingles, though. Did your sight recover?

Its... something that just came up and I'm been kicking this down the road, but its looking like I gotta bite the bullet on it. But I was hoping for a LITTLE bit of peace between getting my eye treated and the next disaster.
As for my sight: the hole in my vision went away, but there is some vision damage. Clouding in the interior of the eye and some cornea damage, even some visible distortion of the iris. I can see out of it, but its... fuzzier. Imagine if you popped out the right lens in your buddy's glasses and wore them. That's what its like for me. This is permanent damage.
Yikes I definitely hope it works out for you. That eye damage is pretty bad. Can they help fix it in any way?

the scarring can go away a little, but it takes a lot of time. but outside of eye surgery to correct my new astigmatism it doesn't sound like they can do anything more for me. I also need to be a month without a breakout before i can take the shingrix vaccine. Even then my uncle had a strong reaction to it when he had it so I'm hesitant about going in for it.
