Dogs and cats, living together... (Music recommendations.) · 7:03pm Mar 30th, 2014

A sign of the Apocalypse is upon us.

I've found a pair of none Swedish rappers I might actually... like.

Well, two songs at least and even that is still near unparalleled.

"Windmills - Get Up"

Heavily inspired by Dark Souls 2, but contains no spoilers (to my knowledge).

Then again, I'm an utter, utter sucker for any art about rising again and again until not even the uncaring fates themselves may hold you down.

Not sure if I'd call myself a Windmill fan quite yet, but I'll certainly keep my eye on them from here on out.

"Dan Bull - Dishonored Rap"

Shockingly enough, Dishonored for this one. Again, next to nothing about the story, but it captured the anarchic feel and blood-thirst of a high-chaos play-trough quite well.

Well, that's the rap ones, but since I'm writing about music anyway, here's a few more that caught my eye recently.

"In-Rush - Iceborn"

This thing is a beast at a whopping seven minutes long, but it frankly blow me totally away. This thing has, no joke, more world-building than most short-stories I've read.

Saying more than so would spoil it, but imagine a in-character elevator pitch for a fantasy novel set to kick-ass music and you're not far off.

Highly recommended.

Edit: Apparently this is based on the back-story of a League of Legends character named Lissandra.

Thanks to Xhoral1865 for pointing it out!

"Hirosashii - Alone"

Next up, some pony music! A rather catchy tune about Rarity that really deserves more views than it has gotten.

Good beat, good lyrics and a heartwarming subject matter.

"Classified feat. David Myles - Inner Ninja"

Stumbled onto this thanks to YouTube's recommendation function.

This is the PMV that lead me to it...

...but I honestly prefer the original video, even if the above is a really good PMV.

Ninjas, overcoming your limits and reaching your full-potential, all while being rather funny to boot.

How can you go wrong with that mix?

Last, but certantly not least...

"Miracle of Sound - CITY OF NIGHT - Cyberpunk 2077 Song"

Four minutes with near every cyberpunk cliche rammed into the lyrics, and somehow it sounds really, really good.

The other's are really good songs, but if you wan't an artist that holds a really high consistent level I'd recommend you check out this guy's other stuff. He does music about games and movies, and in all sorts of generas.

Well, that's it for now. Hope I shared something new with somebody.

Yup.

Utterly fascinating video, but the post I'd thought I'd mention it in isn't done yet so hssss please.

You know what Iceborn is from? League of Legends. Didn't realize it at first, but I heard her voice and almost did a spit-take. I love her lore, she is also one of my favorite mid laners to play.

Here's what she looks like.

:pinkiegasp:

I genuinely had no idea. That's rather awesome.

I don't play that game, but anything that inspires something as good as that track is alright in my book. :rainbowkiss:

Yeah, you could only listen to the second part of her monologue if you stayed in the victory/defeat screen for 30 seconds on the Howling Abyss map. I did, several times.

The game has that type of detail in it? Cool.

No pun intended. :twilightsheepish:

Yeah, there are three game modes. I could go into detail, but then this comment would be pretty long. League of Legends is my favorite game.

Nifty.

I've added a small edit with the info. Thanks once more for pointing it out.
